It triggers me to see horses constantly being ridden behind the vertical. If you want collection, the horse must have space to move into, if it doesn't have that, it will put the brakes on... It becomes front heavy and hanging on the bit. I guess I would be a terrible trainer, because I would be honest.. I would stop her, then tell her to give out on the reins, and to stop using them for balance.. Tell her that we will need to undo all the wrong habits she has gained, to start over riding correctly.. The truth, I know what to do, I understand and see when the horse gets it, but me myself, is unable to ride it. I even struggle just sitting the trot.. I did get my horse self carried, but she had an old injury, so she was never completely sound. Which is why she is retired, and I just don't have the time or money to go down this path.. I love horses, I love what dressage is actually about, and how riding the horse correctly, will help with longevity... But dressage as a sport 😞

If dressage masters hip means hyperflexion I can't see any sence in it. I would never ride a horse like that, sorry.

@@DressageHub HOW will you get a horse out in front of vertical, when you are riding behind vertical?? the horse is unable to stick it's nose out in front, when it is behind because the muscles to do it is out of use, when it is BTV. But teachers and riders don't know anything about the biomechanics.

@@vibeskouenborg6842 thats like saying “how will you get a horse to jump when your riding over ground poles?” Lots of horses duck behind the vertical for many reasons, not always because the rider is asking them to. This trainer is trying to teach the rider how to deal with a horse that ducks in a calm manner that wont irritate the horse instead of wailing on them to get them forward. Around the 2:46 mark you can see the horse start to peek out, maybe not in front of the vertical yet but she’s getting the horse to reach forward. The goal of the lesson I beleive is to teach a rider how to properly deal with a bracy horse in a kind manner that wont emotionally shut the horse down

When has hyperflexion been the goal? here the horse is learning to stay behind vertical- disaster
@vibeskouenborg6842
@vibeskouenborg6842 2 жыл бұрын
Here we have the best example of how a horse is brain washed like a slave, physical and mental, to never get in front of vertical/poll highest, self carriage/collection. This is poor clean disaster hyperflexing riding. The trot has no clear beat, the thorax is hanging deep down, the horse shows conflict in canter and in the mouth and in shape. The neck is unable to bend when hyperflexed so the horse shoot out the shoulder when it turns as a stiff pole- on forehand. OMG

Who is giving little girls like her a double bridle and spurs? She's not able to hold her hands calm, not able to sit. Why the hell don't kids learn to ride before they get sharp bits, why is a little girl like that put on a totally broken, improperly trained horse? This whole sport is bullshit from start to finish.. What the trainer says is correct, but not enough.

This ain’t it for me.. Staying on, preferably in front, of the vertical should always be a priority at this level of training. Stop saying “good” if she isn’t even trying to fix it.. And please stay away from the double bridle if you can’t keep your horse on the vertical for even a second..

That is soo abusive style. It hurts this Animal mouth. What you do to this poor horse is qualified as Sadism (to cause pain to other being for entertiment). And you should be prosecuted for this way of Animal treating. Unfortunately for Horses you are safe because Horse can be tortured and abused (what you do) and it is not just tolerated, It's rewarded.
@Jill_P
@Jill_P 2 жыл бұрын
Ah yes, this abusive style is so bad that this horse isn't bothering to give so much as a tail swish or pinned ear! Do you really think the abuse of a 1,200+lb animal is this easy, flowing, and soft? I think not. At some point, you stop being an advocate for better horsemanship, and become someone who is just here to criticize, and call everything abuse. Let's save the criticism for someone who isn't trying to learn and better themselves, and who really deserves it.

@@Jill_P to abuse with not much effort 1200+ Animal, in this specific case a Horse, is not difficult at all. It is enough to pack Her mouth up with "dental" and "trigeminal" effect bits at once (which itself is a radicules idea) and ride on constantly stretched reins with intimidating lighter or stronger jerks and cuts. " Dental" effect bit assumes constant usage (stretch) of reins what now is called by amusing phrase "contact with the bit", what constantly remind the Horse of Her palce and Her servitude by inflicting continous pain and discomfort. This bit affects very tender toothless areas- the bars, the teeth- first and second premolars, tongue, palate and gums. Mentioned parts of Horse's mouth are subjected to a direct painful influence- that is direct pain which acts upon the minor palatine nerve, the branches of the maxillary nerve, the sublingual nerve, the alveolar nerve and the facial nerve. "Trigeminal" action bit (curb) (when the branches of the trigeminus nerve which pass along the bones of the Horse's lower jaw are chosen as main point of pain infliction) injects one time, short injections of pain into the Horse's brain and conciousness and every move of hand activates it. Of course not just mouth is being injured but whole spine especially joints between neck and a head, what often leads to kissing spines condition. In vast majority of time in "Regular" riding with usage of almost always single(!) bit, reins are loose and slight hand drive inform the Horse what to do. Look closely at the Horses mouth( best on slow motion) and tell us what is your idea about what Horses in dressage are trying to say. l hope now you can at least roughly imagine Horse's point of being abused by you and your abusive and sadistic training methods and riding techniques.

@@lukaoisunicorn3837 I do not agree that any use of a bit is abusive. There is a correct, giving, and soft way to use a bit, just as there is an abusive way to use a hackamore. Did you interview this horse? Did he tell you that he feels he is being forced into a life of servitude, or is it possible that this horse is enjoying his career? I don't think you realize the immense suffering that most sport horses would undergo if tomorrow, you got your way, and people stopped pursuing "subjugating" equestrian sports. I see no evidence of this being forceful or subjugating in the horse's body language, so you'll forgive me if I form my judgements based off of this horse's own actions, rather than off of your feelings, and your attempts at anthropromorphizing this horse. You accuse this rider of being intentionally jerky with her hands, so please give us time stamps where you see this occurring, because I see no evidence of this. I think that your intentions are probably good, but your choice to criticize a rider who is actually quite soft, who isn't being harsh with her aids, and who is here to learn, is inappropriate. Unfortunately, you don't see that when you insist on calling something like this abuse, you are crying wolf, and making it so that when there is actual abuse occurring, it becomes easy to call those who see it that way as overly sensitive alarmists, who don't know what they are talking about. If you keep crying wolf, and you call even the softest, most skilled riders abusive, you are hurting, not helping, these horses. I don't know why you think you can speak on MY "sadistic" methods when you know nothing of my personal practices. I suppose it easy to sit behind an anonymous screen name and only issue criticism, rather than offer solutions. I personally wish the FEI would allow riders and horses to choose the optimal equipment for them, and would accept a single bit or hackamore, rather than requiring the use of a double bridle. Perhaps, if you are so against any use of a double bridle, rather than trolling this video, you could start a petition to make this change.

@@vibeskouenborg6842 A lot of horses tuck themselves behind the vertical because they either haven't got the strength behind to use their back legs or because they are a bit lazy. When they have the strength or are activated by tempo changes and correct half halts. then up comes the head where it should be. You seem to think every horse should be perfect from the start. Doesn't work that way.

@@jonjonwp No I think horses are supposed to be trained so they have a chance. To be honest, this nonsens that horses are behind vertical frist and then get in front later, has NO sense. If a horse is behind it CANNOT get in front because the muschles that should do it, is out of use when the horse is behind vertical. And this shape will never build the horse. So many things goes wrong when horses is trained this way. Nobody notice all the conflict the horse shows. This give the full answer . This ignorence to the horse is a disaster. ISES has researche that tells about all this hyperflexion damage.

@@vibeskouenborg6842 I said in my comment changing the tempo is the way to get horses to use their back end and get the legs under and working .
