You must keep the horse balanced with your thigh muscles and try not to get left behind when there is a surge of forward energy then you can lighten the contact

The sitting trot💀

The poor horse is absorbing the shock of her sitting trot with his mouth because she is pulling so hard which is why he is so clearly behind the vertical

Thanks so much for your comments Hannah! It's great this rider is training and staying in active lessons to constantly improve her skills. It takes a village! :)

I think she is doing great, she needs to strengthen her core a little so she can follow and absorb the movement in sitting trot without it effecting her hands, but none of us are born perfect and it is only through practice and taking lessons that we can improve, and gain the knowledge, strength and balance to ride well.

why are the basics not being addressed here..I can see the horse behind the vertical... labouring to balance himself for this reason. Leg yielding to the wall was inhibited by the position of the poll. The poll should always be the highest point and nose slightly in front of the vertical. The reins should never hold back whilst the leg is on. One at a time. Either leg on and release of hands or hands on no leg? these are basics.
