Also, a gentle reminder for those who live in truly northern places. Keeping yourself warm, dry and comfortable comes first! These videos are inspiring and a pleasure to watch, but let's not try and fool ourselves about our living situation (I've previously done that and it wasn't pretty🤗). It's true but you can still be cute and colorful all bundled up. I've been really working on my winter style the last few years and have a lot fun with layering a wool cocoon coat over denim jacket, leather or a vest. Colorful blanket scarves and beanies. Waterproof heeled boots with a lug sole are great. This year I'm experimenting with bright orange nail polish and sunglasses with colored lenses because it does get depressing wearing dark monochromatic looks the whole long winter.
@hersharele85074 жыл бұрын
@@sononi4798 I agree with that. I love my patterned scarves and I try to match my scarves to my beanies. I also got my winter jacket in a dark purple, because I love purple and if I have to wear something everyday it needs to be in my favourite colour!

I agree, it gets pretty cold and dirty here in New England in the Winter and early Spring, too. I just went to TJ Max and bought a white colored short puffer Parker, just to brighten up things beyond black/navy. We'll see how that goes this winter. The woman at the register said, You must be very neat to buy white for the Winter. That made me laugh.

Agreed. Fall lasted about 5 minutes (hyperbole) in Northwestern Ontario. Not just sub-zero temperatures but sleet/snow/ice and wind conditions would be helpful. Dressing like fall with winter conditions is a unicorn moment when achieved lol.

I grew up in Spain and no one sends their knitwear to the dry cleaners. We always washed our sweaters at home. Besides being more economical, washing at home makes your knitwear feel softer and smell so much better.

I live in the USA. I used to avoid any fashion item that had the care instruction ‘Dry Clean Only’ simply because I could not afford the charges. I realized I could hand wash in a mild cleaning agent (usually Woolite), with wonderful results, while also being far less expensive. I have a difficult time with the ‘dry cleaning’ chemical odor. While I hand launder most items, and also use the ‘delicates’ cycles on my Electrolux washer & dryer, there are a few that must be dry cleaned, such as tailored blazers, coats, and slacks. When I bring these items home from being dry cleaned, I hang them outside, or in a well-ventilated room, before placing them in my closet.

I have been looking at the French dressing options. You dress very much in the French style. These are very fundamental pieces with just a little bit of oomph, a sweater with special patterns in it, a shirt with some buttons or lace in it, a beautiful pattern of top or dress, There is something that makes the piece unusual and not plane. Simple boots or ballet slippers or a simple heel and lots of blazers and a little special accessory that completes the outfit. It's a simple look that looks easy but is well thought out and put together. They tuck their sweaters into their pants or skirts which is something I had not considered. Even wearing the buttons in the back is a trick the French girls do. It's playing into your own personal style and wearing what you enjoy. I love your beautiful colorful coat and your boots. I love you in light colors. It reminds me of the video that you had your body typing done where the stylist put you into light colors. That's you!

I always like to wear unexpected colors in the fall/winter. I love white and pastels in Winter, and darker colors in Summer! Boots are a necessity here in MA, so the stylish boots can mostly be worn in the Fall, as once snow is on the ground, a waterproof, warm boot is the only way to go!

And its not just women’s clothing... if we want quality items we have to either wait for sales without many options of sizing left or pay through the nose to buy any item. Its the same for footwear, handbags and accessories. Clarks were the shoes my Dad would buy for daily shoes. That aas when Clarks were still made in England. Excellent craftmanship. I so appreciate and respect your aesthetic and ethics, Audrey. Your approach really resonates with me (and several thousands of others, obviously). Your point about the boots especially got my attention and I wonder if you might offer some more guidance there. While I appreciate the durability and beauty of leather, I choose to not purchase it for personal reasons. My experience with nonleather shoes and boots has been pretty disappointing. After a single year, the faux leather boots are still functional, but the faux leather material looks really shabby (as opposed to just worn in, which I rather adore).
