My name is Mariel, and I started getting into fashion in the past few years and am learning so much about it. I'm drawn to fashion as I believe it is an art form that not only allows individuals to express themselves but also creates a history and record of different time periods and generations. i feel like ghiblicore is my vibe in a lot of ways but for fashion it always seems a little plain for me? (not howl lol) like it makes sense for the movies and all the complexity of animation but it's hard to me (personally!) to feel like i have a creative and fun outfit if it's like, a loose solid-color dress like kiki's or mei's or sheeta's or arrietty's. i could get into some of the details in costumes like nausicaa's or maybe some specific accessories, but overall i think i'd go more for the energy of the whole movies rather than the outfits in them. like botanical prints, for example, aren't actually used in the movies but have a connection.

I think going for general energy of the movies works too! I feel like ghiblicore fashion is pretty new so it’s up for interpretation. Botanical prints could definitely give ghibli vibe too :)
