Most QB careers would likely be put to rest after an injury like the one he suffered in San Diego.. but instead he managed to turn that into being a 13x Pro Bowler, 4x offensive player of the year, Super Bowl MVP.. was still setting records late in his career.. turned an entire organization around & made it successful. I mean c'mon, this man is a LEGEND.

His timing and anticipation was second to none. You hear about Manning's ability to read a defense pre snap or Brady's ability to get the ball out quick, but I have never seen a QB that was better at getting to the 3rd or 4th option than Brees. Also his ability to put the ball exactly where he wants it, I've never seen someone able to "throw a guy open" better than Brees.

Brees is an indescribable player. He’s so uniquely gifted and dedicated he managed to somehow fly mostly under the radar of analysts and fans “elite” lists. Yet his body of work aways spoke for itself. Not to mention willing to throw his body on the line for wins. I’d love to see him return to New Orleans as a coach. He’s already godlike status in NOLA. If he coached and won a championship or more. They’d erect a 500 ft golden statue of Brees at Championship Square

Yeah, a shoulder injury can sap your passing skills like nobody's business. The first time I sprained my AC joint I'd have to shut it down after 8-10 pass attempts. The second time I sprained my AC joint I couldn't complete a 15 yarder ( *at all* ). I'm hoping that the third time's the charm; so that I can be back out there like Uncle Rico.

I was very familiar with his injury because within a year of him having surgery I had a very similar injury while playing lacrosse. I was also fortunate to have an orthopedic surgeon that had operated on both NY Jets and NY Rangers players as my doctor who told me Drew's injury was why in looked in that direction on me, despite me never having a full dislocation. My first surgery got me over 10 years, including through basic training, and I am at 4 years on the second. I know I was never going to be the athlete that he was/is, even though I played collage lacrosse after my first surgery, but at most I can lob a tennis ball over head 20 yards a few times then I am in severe pain but underhand I can go all day. (I am just not talented enough to be able to figure out how to throw lefty).

So he won a SB, broke countless records and secured himself in the hall of fame despite being undersized and having a bum arm? Now that’s impressive.

He didn’t have to say it, anyone who watched the last 3 years of his career knew he couldn’t throw

His third last year he had the highest passing percentage for a season. The year after that he was .1% shy of tying it and his last year he still threw over 70%. He broke the record for most passes to a single wide receiver his second last year, 149 passes to Michael Thomas. You're talking out of your ass.
