Have never understood why Broadway hasn't embraced him more...his voice is extraordinary, and his acting is incredible...I wish they could figure out how to have him play Jesus and Judas at the same time bc he's completely brilliant in both roles!

I can't believe that Drew is still not famous.. :) Maybe it's a good thing for his talent . I love this Guy and I'm a huge fan. I wish I could use such as voice technique as he uses. Take care Drew an hope I will see You live once !

Not famous? He played at West End and Broadway! Just glad he prefers staying in Austria hahaha
@JustAnotherBuckyLover Жыл бұрын
@@carostrophal Outside of Austria, he's definitely not as well known as he deserves to be. A LOT of people have played in both the West End and Broadway, and sadly, too many amazing talents (like Drew) seem to fade out of the public awareness.
@carostrophal Жыл бұрын
@@JustAnotherBuckyLover Ah well, yes that's true of course. Just for me, as an austrian, everyone that's been successful internationally is somehow famous for me. I don't really know why, but I think being austrian kind of pushes the feeling of "being small", so I couldn't relate to the actual big musical industry. My fault, didn't think about it in a realistic relation.
@JustAnotherBuckyLover Жыл бұрын
@@carostrophal No worries - it happens (albeit to a lesser extent) even in the UK, despite the powers that be making us the US's smaller sidekick. In fact, for most countries, their national stars often don't become internationally famous at the levels they might deserve, especially if English isn't their first language, and it's primarily only the US that tries to force its stars onto everyone else. American exceptionalism, and all that jazz.

As a singer myself, I can tell you that when all the pieces are in place and everything is going right on the night, you can slip into what I call the 'sweet zone.' That's where everything around you drops away and you loose yourself in the song, and a great performance can crystallise into something truly spectacular. He was in that 'sweet zone,' giving that song 120 percent, and needed a few moments to collect himself afterwards. It's such a powerful performance! I love this song, and I've never heard it sound so good before. Spectacular job! ...Okay, I'm rambling , I'll just go back to my bag of mixed nuts in the cheap seats! LOL ;-)
