I think the edge cases where Mirage and Maria differ are hardly enough to justify not using Mirage in place of Maria in every decklist. I just wish Maria and Mirage had abilities that differed a lot more so you’d have to actually ask yourself which is better for your deck. I would propose just making Maria mirror Coulson more and have her add a random 1 and 2 drop to your hand so she would be better if all you want is to fill out your curve or inflate your hand, but Mirage would be better if you want info and wish to play the card she copies. I think thats something that future card designs need to keep in mind is that they should shy away from effects that obsolesce other cards.

I think that Maria Hill need the buff that On Reveal: Add a two random 1 or one 2-Cost card to your hand. so in the end you will always have 2 cost of power in hand

Unrelated but I am completely fed up with the new cache system. Pulled the mystery variant first, and then High Evo which I already own. Desperately want Darkhawk and Legion too and now won’t be able to access them for quite some time (although I do have DH pinned in the token shop). If they want to truly improve card acquisition they should remove this RNG from the Spotlight caches because it feels HORRIBLE for players like me who get unlucky. Also, the normal caches are so bad I’ve stopped opening them in hopes they increase the rewards inside. 50tk is a slap in the face.

Unfortunately I have no hope they’re gonna change the rarity of tokens, they want people to get fomo and spend cash for tokens. Spotlight caches should give you 3000 tokens not 1000 if you get a card you already own in the mystery card slot

Why didn't you save up enough Spotlight Caches to guarantee Darkhawk and Legion? Were you convinced that Jean Grey and Echo would be great so you opened your Caches to get them before content creators proved that they weren't meta-relevant? I'm sorry, but the system not giving you what you wanted is your own fault. There was an easy way to guarantee what you wanted, but you CHOSE to take the gamble.

@@adsfire1063 it’s impossible to save up for 4 spotlight caches every week if you are f2p. You have to pick and choose and plan weeks in advance to guarantee pulls. So it feels extremely bad when there’s only one card you really want during any given week because you’re likely going to waste spotlight caches trying to get it. Literally my only point is that the system would be better if they guaranteed card pulls before variant pulls. Idk how anyone could disagree with that. And yes, I chose to gamble on a 50% chance, and then again on a 66% chance, and got shafted both times. The probability of this playing out as it did is roughly 16%, a chance I was willing to take (I own it, and I got shafted by luck).

@@ydgmdlu my point is: the system could be improved by actually giving you cards you don’t have before giving you variants. If the devs claim of “we want to improve card acquisition” were true that’s how the system would be. That’s all. If you disagree that’s okay. No need for the hostile tone. Side note: Jean Grey played a huge role in my ongoing Thanos list that I used to hit infinite and do not regret the buy at all. Plus I have the Artgerm variant with boobiez. You don’t need to follow the meta to have success.

Mirage isn't Maria Hill powercreep, she's Cable-but-Better. Cable takes a card that they were never going to play, unless he grabs Chavez, which is guaranteed with some decks. They both give info but Mirage is just better. That said, Second Dinner has said that Cable's getting changed in an upcoming patch (though they didn't specify what the change is).

The same thing just happened to me but on the opponent's side! Their Leader copied my face-down Iron Lad, and their copy then copied their own Iron Lad, which resulted in a fast-forward loop just like you saw. They then played Jubilee, which pulled in their Iron Lad, which copied their Arnim Zola, which resulted in the Jubilee getting destroyed and cloned. One of the Jubilee clones of course pulled in the actual Arnim Zola, which then hit the Iron Lad that was the copy of my Iron Lad (which of course was just a copy of their Iron Lad). It was the loopiest chain of effects that I've ever seen in the game!

I feel like Mirage is going to be a card a lot like Jeff and Iron Lad. Meaning that she is a generically good card that you will see often in content creators decks but won’t be crucial to almost any deck on her own. Great vid ❤

I think people underestimate how often the card you get from Mirage will not be cheap enough to play and end up being stuck in your hand. I think If you want consistent power Maria Hill is still the better option while Mirage has the information upside

As low value: you can copy (and buff) a green goblin, which is a good information to get but you will not play it I also think there is other bad card to copy such as a blade, wong (if you dont need reveal effect) and probably other

Certainly the most underrated card so far. I was off on the value that legion brings but I’m not sure how long he’ll stay meta relevant. He’s super fun but if you’re tight on tokens I’d probably say keep saving for something you deem more exciting!

I think Mirage is best played on the late game. Copying a possible 3 - 6 energy cost card would be quite game changing.

Not really, Cable takes 1 card from your opponent's deck while Mirage just copys the lowest cost card from enemy hand, there are scenerios where Cable is better and there are scenerios where Mirage is better there's no power creep here

They can’t anymore to my knowledge, spotlights are the way to get new cards then tokens. But I think (if you have a comfortable amount of tokens, up to you) then it’s a safe pickup

You won't be able to get a T5 skipped She-Hulk because the She-Hulk discount doesn't take effect until the next turn. You could get a discounted Death though. Kitty doesn't counter Mirage, it would just be hard to grab a copy of Kitty.

One play i could see is that you predict when your opponent is gonna do Kitty - Beast. If you don't have priority, you can let them play Kitty, bounce her back and make her 0 cost, then you grab a copy

Not a power creep. I could see mirage being terrible depending on the metagame whereas Maria Hill is more meta game neutral. Kitty pride example is perfect for this as if it's everywhere you migjt prefer Maria hill in your deck

Not really, Psylock shines when Zabu does not and it's on turn 3/4 so you can play 5/6 cost cards early without that annoying ongoing effect of electro

Not a really good play trying to copy SHulk from opponent. If played Mirage on T5 and copied 1 cost SHulk from opponent, she will be at least 3 cost to player. Maybe 2 cost with Quinjet would be great.
