WOW GUYS! I can’t believe that I successfully met my 2nd President/Head of State - Mr. Johnny Briceño of Belize - a beautiful country in Central America.
Let's just say that it was not an easy journey to get here. My flight was delayed by 4 hours, so I had to cancel my initial meeting with Mr. President. And then it almost didn’t happen the next day because his schedule was so hectic...
So in between the anxiety of planning the meeting - I rented a car and explored all over this stunning tropical nation. Belize really caught me by surprise!!
PS - Is anyone still reading this? I’m not sure if people read captions anymore or not. But I just want to personally thank you for being here with me. Hey I'll tell you this as a full Belizean who has lived here my entire life, Johnny Briceño is not this man who "cares about his country". He is a man who came into power to get rich just like his father who did horrible thing when he was in power over 14 years ago. He has caused deaths of thousands of Belizeans. Please stop spreading this false information of a Prime Minister who is taking care of his country and someone who cares because he never did. If you want to can research It, go look how much the price of everything has gone up in Belize since he has become the Prime Minister. He has stolen hundreds of millions of dollars from people and is a man of pure evil. I just ask that don't go putting this evil man in good some type of good imagine because he is no saint. I was lucky enough to serve in the British Army in Belize, and fell in love with the country, and its people. Everyone has the time to say hello, and pass the time of day. I met a previous Prime minister of Belize in 1979, who was the prime minister who took Belize forward to their independence. George Cadle Price, and like the current incumbent, he was someone that everyone could feel comfortable around. Belize is still my favourite country to visit, and is where I plan to retire.

@@blitzblack7308 as a Belizean, I will admit that many of them are very rude in general. However we don’t hate Guatemala…. Well at least my family doesn’t. It’s a beautiful culture & I hope to visit one day😊 However every Guatemalan I’ve met, has to say that we belong to them. It’s incredibly annoying but I just laugh it off ! Also it’s a bit disrespectful because our culture is super different from Guatemala. It’s like disregarding our culture as if it doesn’t exist. Also the reason we don’t agree or say anything is because in belizeans schools we aren’t taught the exact history they teach in Guatemala. I suppose everyone has their own version of the story

Maya archaeologist here. The ruins of Caracol out near the border (3 hours from San Ignacio) are the largest Maya ruins in Belize in terms of ancient population, size of pyramids and urban footprint by quite a bit. Xunantunich is probably #2, though there are a few other big ones of similar size.

My wife and I visited Belize for the first time in 2018. We absolutely fell in love with the country and, after two more trips, are fortunate enough to have purchased land. We're planning to make Belize our home in the next couple of years and can't be more thrilled. If anyone is reading this and wondering if they should visit Belize, the answer is YES. It is a wonderful, beautiful place with the nicest people. Go to the iguana rescue in San Ignacio, see Xunantunich, go snorkeling in Hol Chan, and eat all of the fryjacks until you're sick. You will not regret it.

Great content - I spent two years in Belize and it is a glorious place. The scenery is just spectacular. The local food is delicious. The people are so kind and compassionate - always friendly, with big smiles and such pride of their slice of heaven. My favorite place is at the southernmost tip - the beautiful village of Placencia. If you like the outdoors, Belize is tough to beat and the people….oh the people…..just love ❤️ them

Oh we didn't like it at all. I mean the snorkeling was kinda cool, we even saw a manatee, but overall the whole vibe was really weird with very loud music and only stuff for the tourists, it didn't feel authentic at all. I’ve taken a train through Belgium but haven’t ever “been”. I was in Switzerland for a shorter period of time but usually still count it because I was dropped off in Basel and had to walk through town to catch my train. I DO count visiting an airport as visiting a country because while you might not get the full experience, you get to hear their language, you get to try some of their foods and snacks, you have a view from inside the airport and you are surrounded by many different foreigners and countrymen alike.

For me counting visiting a country is all about if you've experienced the culture or food or area, something that gives you an experience of something that the country has to offer whether that is seeing the architecture, meeting people or riding the subway Also this is ambiguous to each person so would say there's no hard and fast rule

I never considered that you visited my country from your previous video on Belize. After watching this one, I still feel like you missed out on so much. But I appreciate you coming back for a more enriching experience. And I’m glad you enjoyed it. Having said that, there are some mistakes you made in the video, and I wanted to correct them so that viewers are not misinformed. Corrections: 1.) Belize has a PM, not a President. 2.) Mopan is a type of Mayan. And we have three main types: Ketchi, Mopan, and Yucatec. We also have several other groups like Garinagu, East Indians, Chinese, etc… 3.) Xunantunich is not the largest ruin we have. It is Caracol. 4.) You were in San Ignacio. Then you drove on the Hummingbird Highway and ended up in Belize City. That doesn’t make any sense. Timeline is definitely off there. 5.) Belmopan is not the smallest city in Latin America because Belize is not a part of Latin America.

Its a beautiful country I dont know about , and those pyramids!!! The President is so coooool , modest &humble!!!! Everyone will feel at ease to be with !!!! No air of entitlement even with his position. I will rather meet him than to one known President just looking on his picture his piercing eye or smirk put fear down to my bone. It amazes me how stats say Belize is a very dangerous country, but you just went with the president outside of his building without any form of security and all people just look warm and welcoming. I feel like this is a proof we need to take crime stats with a huge grain of salt.

not really, depends where you are for the most part. Belmopan is reletivitly safe and all the parts of belompan he showed is safe. South Side of belize city is another question entirely.
