It has always baffled me that each and every calendar you can buy here in Mexico starts on sunday. As far as I know, no one here considers the week to start on sunday, I was always taught that the week starts on monday and ends on sunday, doesn't the bibel say that as well??? Maybe the system was imported from somewhere else, but it is really confusing that every single printed calendar made in Mexico or imported starts on sunday.

the emojis being all a variation of laughter is basically just the modern version of replying with lol or lmao to someone. like, before smartphones were the norm and read receipts weren't really a thing, if a friend was telling you a story, you'd randomly reply with lol or lmao, just as a way to acknowledge that you were reading their texts. and i still do that but with the emoji

On the Sunday being both the first day of a week and a weekend topic I have an explanation. Think about a loaf of bread, or basically any long object, does it have only one end slice? No, it doesn’t. Basically, end has two definitions, the first being finale (the one your using), and sides of an object (or stretch of time) where it starts and stops.
@zjzr08 Жыл бұрын
I also apply this second definition of ends on why Sunday is the first day of the week too.

The reason Sunday is still considered part of the weekend when it is the first day of the week is because the weekend includes both the beginning and the end of the week. Imagine that the week is a stick, a stick has two ends so Sunday is one end of the week and Saturday is the other.

Then again almost one fifth of our population is in the capital with a noticeable divide in culture. So either the data collection was skewed or just the remaining 80% doesn't generate the same amount of traffic... or I'm thinking this the entire other way. Studies and how they collect data are... interesting.
