The scoring system in Imperator: Rome is different in that it tries to represent how well nations did relative to their starting position and not rank objectively how powerful each nation is at the end.

@@KriegerT Somewhat. It's based on amount of pops and pop happiness. It just means that if you start as a big empire it might feel like you don't really accomplish a lot since your score changes very slowly. On the other hand, if you start as something like Sparta or some random tribe and you conquer some stuff your score really bumps up so that's fun to see

However, he left Britain with hostages and the promise of a tribute that was probably never paid, without leaving a single Roman soldier in Britain, so yeah, his invasion was successful, but personally I don't really consider it a 'conquest'.

The Romans founded one of the greatest empires in history, the Italians have trouble figuring out what side they want to be on in a war. They're not even close to the same. Drew its called Byzantion (Byzantium) because that is the name of the city. It existed before the Romans and after them. The Byzantine Empire is known as such because Byzantion (Byzantium, Constantinople) was the capital, that's what the nice little city is.

Dunno if u gonna read this Drew, but if u wanna.. spectate on Imperator again, don't just look at the 'Score board'. It only takes Expansion and pop happiness into account and divides it by a starting position divider. So if u start with 1 tile but u explode, u gonna be first. There is however a ledger that is showing pops, tiles, military strength and so on, and I think u should look at that in the future. Just wanna say keep up the nice videos, they help me through the annoying quarantine and they are as entertaining as ever!

The final score in Imperator is weighted based on the starting power of each nation. The weaker the start, the higher the score. This means that a weaker nation can have a larger final score than a stronger nation because it had a much weaker start than the stronger nation. Hopefully Drew sees this; he's done quite a few Imperator videos and hasnt figured it out yet.

Julia Gabel That’s the current Sicilian flag symbol, FYI. It’s called a trinacria/triskelion. I don’t know why the colors are like that in Imperator, considering those colors are believed to have come from the Aragon invasion of the area. The head is a gorgon head, it’s supposed to protect the island. The 3 bent legs are supposed to represent the 3 corners of Sicily. The wheat is signifies the fertility of the land. The trinacria is a really old symbol (it was on Syracusan coins) But I don’t know why the Aragon colors are on the flag.
