Hey Drew, the reason for the Greater Idaho idea is based in cultural differences. It’s essentially a separatist movement by the more rural, conservative people of Oregon (and north California) who feel they have no representation in their state because Portland holds all the power. If they were to join Idaho, it would give them proper representation by people with similar political values as them. This idea has been active for a few years now, and overall it ideally would benefit both sides as it allows both to consolidate their voters into separate states. Let the Portland area be run by liberals, and let the rest be run by conservatives. It actually has a lot of traction going for it with many of the eastern counties voting to join Idaho. They recently scaled back their plans for southwestern Oregon, as they voted no to annexation, but it’s still a part of their future plans.

This project has been in the works for years now, I doubt they’re going to stop because it’s too much work. When you pour years of your life into a project, you will do everything in your power to finish it, will you not? Now, the government of Oregon might not be so willing to do this, but at a certain point they will have to concede considering that pretty much all of the eastern counties have voted to join Idaho. If they all do, and I’m sure they will (it follows the current trend), then Oregon will have no choice but to work out a deal with them.

In Europe there are many high speed trains, French TGV is able to reach 570 km/h (over 350 mph) but on comercial lines it usually doesn't pass 300km/h (185mph), there are also Spanish AVE and Italian Pendolino (which are also used in Poland). USA has the high speed trains, but there are only short sections on one line between Boston and DC where trains reach really high speed, on most lines they doesn't pass 110 mph. But there new lines are in construction and old ones are upgraded, so it will get better soon. Also European countries are pretty small compare to USA, so it looks much more impressive on the European map ;p The problem of American trains is not the speed, but the density of lines.

no that was one rare case, but much more than 1 were launched. Also that case, the Soviets launched them, but did it count for the Russians? I don't know. Within the few day from when russia left to when Kazakhstan left and the Soviet died, russia and other nations should probably focus on more on the political and demographic problems of partition rather than space exploration. But i guess I am wrong. When Soviet launched a shuttle, but it returned to russia, so if it did count to be Soviets launch, that's the only way Soviet's tally increased even after russia's tally bagan. But not just days, even after years of Soviets death, we can see their tally increasing, some thing is wrong. Also russia as an independent nation should take some time to make their own satellites and launch of maybe they just posted russian flags on top of Soviet shuttles and launched them.

It is a pretty good spacecraft, and while it will hardly be able to compete with its American counterparts for deep space applications, it does well in its intended purpose of going to low orbit.
