Something a lot of people may not appreciate is the first chord in the chorus, which has that minor sixth in it that makes it sound almost like a chord in inversion, and adds increased harmonic depth. That kind of writing reminds me of Walter Schreifels of Quicksand.

I fully get and respect why you and some of the other reactors didn't get wowed by The Void. While personally I really enjoyed it (one of my favorite tracks of theirs), I agree that it's better suited as an album track. But given the more optimistic and confident vibes and theme of the track, combined with them getting to settle more into being able to make Spiritbox their priority and absolutely THRIVE, I think it's the perfect single in theme and to signify that they're in a really good spot, and with some really good forward trajectory to boot. It may not be the best foot forward as a debut single, but I think it's wonderful that the song they chose to drop first was the one that feels like them being celebratory and grateful for where they're at right now.
