3:58 Alpina is kind of like a mix of Brabus and Maybach but for BMWs. It was originally a tuning shop ran by Burkard Bovensiepen somewhere in Bavaria that did carburetors for BMWs in the 60s. BMW noticed it and decided they want that dude to work with them and that's how history was made. Alpinas are fast enough to keep up with the M cars and are seriously luxurious. There is a vid of a E60 M5 Vs Alpina B5 E60 racing and it shows perfectly just how good the suspension on the Alpina is. The engines aren't even BMW made because they gut it and fit in their own parts. They only make like 2 thousand cars per year btw.

BMWs ownership of BMW does not officially take control of Alpina until 2025 and the process will be completed in 2026. Alpina’s current offerings are subtle looking like almost all of their earlier offerings. However, drove one and get back to me. They are completely different than the model they are based on and aim at a different customer. My 24 B8 is a GT that performs like a Bentley GT and not an M850/M8.

@@mluxe2942 I’ve driven quite a few new ones as I work at a BMW dealership. They simply don’t compare to the old Alpinas. For example take the G12 B7 (I don’t think the G70 has an alpina variation yet). I drove one and it feels exactly the same as a regular 750iL in terms of power and handling. All of the suspension components are the same as standard G12 750iL’s and I believe the engine is the same too. I’ll give it to you, the interior is nice but like I said, it just feels like a trim package. Fancier leathers, updated instrument cluster, some fancy wood trim. a body kit, and alpina wheels and paint is pretty much the extent of it. The old Alpinas such as the E38 B12 were completely bespoke. Specialty alpina paint color just like the new ones except they added hand painted striping down the side. Not only that but the stitching on the seats, the dash, the door panels, and the rear was all bespoke to alpina and mostly handmade I believe. And on top of that alpina completely took apart the engine, bored it out to fit larger cylinders, added other modifications for speed, and put it all back together. The speed increase wasn’t too much more than the stock V12 but the fact that they went in there and did everything makes it all feel so much more special. I’m sure your new alpina is nice don’t get me wrong but they really don’t make them like they used to

The mustang is the cleanest and tasteful of the cars shown, he probably did want a 5.0, but he didn't want to waste 30+ for a car nearly 10 years old, the money hes spent on parts wouldnt even cover half of that 30k for a stock 5.0 that most likely was molested, he might as well get a brand new Honda for that kind of money so he just made the best of what he had, can't knock him for that, except the oversized cowl

Lmao that Red/Gold Civic has been up there for like two years. It continues to pop up in my FB marketplace and I've drove past it a few times in the same, exact, spot. I will say despite how absolutely atrocious it is, there was a lot of time and effort put into it. Alpina is a BMW exclusive cosmetic company. They focus more on luxury and their stand out feature is their ugly as sin 30 spoke rims. An Alpina B7 is 750i with higher end leather seats, different interior color scheme focused on blue and lime green and other little cosmetic changes. Funny thing is ALPINA is only ever spelled on the boot of the car, the Alpina emblem is only on the steering wheel center cap, the rest are BMW emblems. So when you see all Alpina emblems on a bimmer it’s 100% fake.

It‘s an independent „tuner“ that buys OEM cars from BMW and turns them into performance luxury cars. better interior, more power, little bit of design altering. different to AMG, AMG has a deal with Mercedes to offer AMG parts straight off the manufacture line, ALPINA does not. trust me, Alpina‘s are fast off the lot depending on the model. some have 700+whp straight off the bat.

The Z4 and the Alpina varient have different wings/fenders.. looking at the body panels and valences I think some moron actually may have butchered a real Alpina.. if I remember right they did handling packs on older ones like this and some of them if the right box was ticked they would be supercharged and the bore would take it from a 2.2-2.5.. they were an expensive option in the early 2000s though so not common at all.. I hope those panel clips are glue on and some numb-nuts hasn’t drilled a rare car..
