I’ve wanted a jeep since I was a child and your channel helped tip me over the edge. I’m 2 months in and I’m the happiest I’ve been in years. My little girl and wife love the jeep life so much it has been great for all of us. This weekend while out in the country I let my little girl sit on my lap and steer for the first time and I think she’s told everyone she’s come across that she “drove a jeep!” Lol. Thanks for all of these videos and inspiration. Some channels are more than just a channel and this is one of them. :)

Drew, I really appreciate the thought and level of detail you put into the build. The maximized organization and efficiency is so important with the limited space afforded in this size of vehicle. Not to mention the careful selection of accessories and components maintain a level of sophistication that surely enhance the quality of the overall experience. What I find equally impressive is the amount of detail, thought, and professionalism you put forth in the video capture and content itself. If you are creating and capturing all of this content solo, this is an enormous task. The creativity and subtleties captured are intriguing and provocative. Thanks for putting all of this together and sharing. We share in the same stomping grounds; I’ll be sure to look out for you on the trails. Cheers!

Question! First of all, drew, great vid as always. Thank you for the awesome and beautiful content. So- as a jeep camper myself (made my own set up, might post a video, not sure!) I find it EXTREMELY hard to find secluded car camping spots. Maybe it’s the region I’m in (south East), but I can’t find good spots. I’ve tried every app: the dyrt, usfs and blmgc… everything! I am aware I’m probably missing some trade secrets, but does anyone on here have a some tips on great views without the annoyance of public “campgrounds”… I’m talking no running water or bathrooms, something primitive but car accessible. Thank you to any one who read this whole thing 😅

Recently just a jeep and that V6 is actually pretty torquey for what it is. So I get what you mean when you say you have enough power to get you places with a mostly stock jeep. We did buy a Cherokee L 4x2 limited since we don’t off-road ever here in Southern California, but once our lease is up and our kids are older we’re probably going to trade in for a Wrangler and finally start off roading a little and going on camping trips. I know he's sponsored by Jackery and has to plug for them. But oh my goodness! Rechargeable power while camping? Game changer! I bought a 300W Jackery and 100W panel to take camping with me for a week and never regretted it. It's SOOO nice to have power for cell phones, lights, fans, and even a laptop. The only thing I wish Jackery did better (aside from the aforementioned handle situation mentioned in the video) would be to give a PRACTICAL guide on power usage to help customers figure out what size they need. Not electrical engineer math mumbo jumbo. PRACTICAL guides. For instance, recharging my cellphone from took 1% of a 300W power supply. Using a small fan overnight took 2% of its power. Powering a gaming laptop, however? That drained 300W in 2.5 hours. So don't use it when you can't recharge easily. They need to have an EASY guide like that where they give general watts per hour and 8 hours (overnight) of typical times to help people who don't have product manuals on hand to get a reasonable idea on usage and battery size needed. "I know I need to last through the night, so I can plug these 4 things in for 8 hours and be good till dawn before recharging." But otherwise, if you camp and haven't bought one yet, DO SO! Rechargeable power on the road is amazing.

A custom hardtop that extends above the back part of the jeep (dropping back down just before the front seats) about a foot to a foot and a half higher would be a perfect set up for you. Then you could add a plywood platform over the top of your electric cooler, which would also add more storage space on the other side above your cutting board…then you could use the entire platform as an inside sleeping option for two.
