Change Chain and Sprockets on SV650S

Learn how to change the chain and sprocket on a 2005 Suzuki Sv650S.
Stock gearing: 15/44 on the S model or 15/45 on the non S
Chain length: 108 links - Make sure to get 525 and o-ring
Take off the front sprocket before you remove the chain!

Good video with good information. My chain is at last notch on the swing arm gauge, and it has uneven tight spots. I think your final chain adjustment was a bit on the loose side, but it should be fine. Again great video.

I have a 99 SV650 naked and use a 16t front 45t rear and I love it! I do allot of highway driving, it reduces the rpm's and increases fuel mileage a bit. As for city driving it makes it so you don't have to shift as often. Yeah the takeoff and lower and torque isn't quite as good however I don't use it as a race bike therefore I don't need the extra torque and acceleration. Higher speeds at lower RPMs is what I prefer. Theres two types of master links, the clip on an press fit, yes if its a press fit.

The x1r jt chain is x ring not o ring

Start to undo the sprocket nuts while the rear wheel is still on the bike, it's easier

I also put grease on every bolt, to make it easier next time, dry joints are a recipe for corrosion and future problems....

Chain adjustment is .8-1.2 inches in case you wanna do it right hahaha good video though

How did you take the sprocket cover off? This is worthless to me.

sprocket cover is 3 - 8mm bolts they make kind of a triangle on the cover.

If you're struggling with the sprocket cover then I wouldn't attempt the chain and sprocket replacement.
