Mam this is a great video for Residents like us. Thanks a lot for putting up the specific and important points and making perimetry look so easy to understand and interpret. Really appreciate the effort you have put in for this video. thanks again.

I've enjoyed your videos. What I'd like to see in future videos is more information about the Octopus visual field. Are there reliability errors with the Octopus as there are with the Humphrey, and if so, are they expressed in a similar way (FL, FP, and FN)? And I'd also like to find out how the visual field loss is calculated. I know the Humphrey uses the Pythagorean theorem, but if the Octopus is radial instead of grid like, maybe another method is being used. Thanks again!

Tariq Mahmood Thank you for your comment. Do you mind elaborating? Are there particular points at which the lack of distinction between right and left make things confusing?

what's the meaning of FOVEA OFF or ON? please help me about that. thanks
@DrHannahdeGuzman6 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for watching. When the Fovea setting is "OFF" then the machine does not test the sensitivity of the fovea. When it's "ON" then a number followed by "dB" will appear which indicates the sensitivity at the fovea.

thanks for your answer. please tell me when "OFF" is setted or "ON", i mean any disease what is Glaucoma or neuropathy disc
@DrHannahdeGuzman6 жыл бұрын
My understanding of your question is: "In what situations would you want the "Fovea" set to off or on?" As far as I know it's an issue of expediency. It takes a little bit of extra time to determine the sensitivity of the fovea so if you want the program to be completed faster then "Fovea" can be set to off. Since we are more interested in the pattern of defects around fixation in glaucoma then knowing the sensitivity of the fovea is not essential. It could be lower in someone with a maculopathy but a perimetry is not really the best test to measure foveal function.
