Nice dry fish process. If you had a smoker you could dry and smoke those on screen racks in the smoker for another type 👍

Smoked fish or meat is not good for your body. If you can't stand by the smoke from cigarettes or fumes from the vehicle, then why take in smoked meat or fish? Dried fish or meat is healthier than smoked ones.

Great insight into the dry fish business. I don’t eat it but my better half sure loves it. I’m usually at the cottage for the weekend when she indulges. What did the blind man say when he passed by a fish market? “Hello ladies” sic!

We got some of the round ones and I wanted to try them but we never cooked it and after a couple of weeks it got moldy so we threw it out.

How does she pay the fishermen? By the day ? Some out 2 days and some might make 1 or 2 trips not as far out so they might pay the ones farther out different? Or pay by the kg?
@cronin22563 жыл бұрын
We got paid by kg when I did it in the 80's

The fishermen did take the bigger fish from the catch to eat. Fishing is a very basic way of life, it's the business people that make the money.

How very crude the gas tank 😂
@myparadiseonbantayanisland90303 жыл бұрын
I kind of like it because you can see how much fuel you have and they sell the gas in pepsi/coke bottles so you just unscrew the empty and screw in the full tank😀

It is weird being as everything is out in the open and no one that I know of gets sick, of course for me my wife washes everything we eat from veggies/fruits to meats.

@@myparadiseonbantayanisland9030 No germs or viruses would ever survive on a salty solution that the fish are soaked in before drying them out on the sun. Even if you eat the uncooked dried fish straight from the sun, you won't get sick because the germs or bacteria or virus won't survive in a salty solution. The same happens when you gargle a saline solution at home to get rid of that sore throat.
