Hi Dries Thanks for the helpful info. I'm a seasoned artist, been in the gallery business for years. Closed everything done and am strictly now working on line. I find it frustrating and not lucrative, I paint every day so my inventory is enormous. I believe it is just me trying to pick up all your saying but you speak so fast and softly that I'm having such difficulty getting what your saying. For instance on one of your videos I watched you mentioned the best on line gallery and I could not get it. I have listened 3 times and I'm still not picking up what you are saying. At the end of your sentences your voice fades out often. Like I said it probably me however I sure value your experience and knowledge and don't want to miss a word. Thank you for sharing. Glory

First time I dislike a video and I want to explain "why"! For a constructive Criticism or a stage gate solution. I have short attention span thing. Hi! Dries, first off I would like to say I am a fan of your work and your channel. I especially like to read the comments. So much information in the comments if you pay attention. I do not want this message to be ill-received . It is coming from concerns I am having regarding the issues you thoughtfully covered in this video and the decisions I make right now. I have been fortunate enough to have had a couple of great articles published about my work and myself in major publications. I sell mostly via word of mouth, I do have some work in a gallery in NYC. Its not enough. I need to grab the bull by the horns and do it myself with maybe some help from a media company. Sorry for long message but its important that this information is include in order to make point . I listened intently to this video and I feel left confused. There is a lot of good info that really helps. The confusion comes in when I listen again and realize that the video tells me (just me, subjective) what not to do. Example; The beginning of the video it seemed Instagram was a not so good thing. And the same instagram is a good thing by the end of video. This confused me. Please know that i do not mean any disrespect to you . As i mentioned earlier i am a fan of your work and your channel.. if any fellow artists can help can help me "get It' i would appreciate it. Thank you :)

Sorry that this is late. 🌻 It’s a yes for Instagram, just don't focus on it so much that you become an influencer (buy expensive camera gear, take hours to edit photos) and forget to make art.

I know it's a struggle but photos with a real camera are something else... There is a real difference between it and the phone. And I do not spend any money on it. Because I have a free version of an edit programe and I have already had the camera. It's really not that expensive as you make it to be.

What do you mean connect with the next stars (around min. 16)? Like should I follow them? What do you mean? Where are those hashtags? in gallery pages? So to clarify, I'm trying to find out where are these hashtags of the next stars, how to find these rising stars - and connect on what level? Befriend them by following? ---- Do you think it's bad practice to put a hashtag of an artist we identify with or feel we're connected by the same types of searches? And is it bad practice to hashtag or tag a gallery one feels has work in the same vein as ours? - so may of these videos say almost the same thing! ... I don't understand what you say at min. 18:40+ "Instead of posting in Instagram, you should be ...."

I always appreciate your videos. I’ve finally got a website at least started now and plan on expanding more of myself in my social media. I honestly focus most of my energy on Instagram since I have the most interaction there compared to my other social media handles. I’ve been interested in starting a KZbin and currently only have one simple video on my profile about my latest solo show. That being said, any advice for being an artist on KZbin?

@@driesketels well the main big thing is recording device and editing. I currently only have my phone and use kinemaster to edit on my phone since it’s free. That holds me back a little. Also I’m unsure what I can bring of value? Like my artwork is valuable and I can do tutorials here and there, maybe have some skill share videos for some more in-depth turtorials on how I make my work. I can also show Timelapses of my work and talk about my process/ideas/concept building but I’m not sure if that’s enough?

Well you will never be sure enough until you do it. You can only know by posting and looking at the feedback. For the material things. I think I could do that indeed. I see what your describing isn’t my situation. My issue is more that I had to split my name. I have gone by Furnifur since 2006 and I was a partner on YT back in the day not anymore and I do not have a art YT account. I have two IG’ and just started my art fcbk so I can make my main Fcbk private again. I am almost done my website but in trying to load my photos to all these sites ( I just signed up on Deviant) I barely have time to create and because I am uploading one by one to each site with descriptions and hashtags I worry for those who are New they see my old stuff out of order from the new and maybe they won’t stay. Anything or place you think I should tackle first? The website?

I've watched some of your videos, baited by the titles. I can't understand how anyone can find any useful hints in all that talking. There's no much negativity, confusing information, and injecting people with doubts, that it may cause more damage to a fresh artist's self-confidence then do good. You mainly talk about yourself and what you're going to say, but you never really get to the point. All you really said in this 20 min long video is: use Instagram and YT to promote. FFS everyone knows it! Your self-obsession is impressive though. I usually don't leave negative comments under influencer's videos, but what you're saying is just misleading and demotivating. So, fellow artists, be warned. There are better sources and pieces of advice out there on YT.
