This song makes me cry every time, because this was me and my uncle’s song. He tragically passed away in his sleep when I was 14 going on 15, he promised to dance with me to this song on my wedding day that will sadly never happen. I love you Uncle Matt ❤️❤️❤️

Wow thank you man! By the way, what model of Martin is that?
@grouchy2227 жыл бұрын
+Smalltown Joe Martin x series 000XAE it served me well for about 3 years. I am now using a Martin Custom X Series X-000CE Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar Black. I use it mainly on solo acoustic gigs. I use a boomerang 111 phrase sampler to get a short percussive loop going and add some low end with a boss oc3 . The hpl guitar doesn't resonate much, but helps reduce feedback at high volume levels.
@TheOnlineBusker7 жыл бұрын
This is fabulous Ronnie, wish I could get that professionally produced sound like you!! What do you do? I think a video showing your production chain would get a lot of visitors!! :))
@grouchy2227 жыл бұрын
Smalltown Joe thanks for the suggestion. It's been a while since I made this one. Hope to be doing some more covers and originals in the near future. I believe I went Guitar > boss oc3 > tc helicon play electric > boomerang 3 > audio interface > Logic Pro Vocal > tc helicon play electric > audio interface > Logic Pro I probably used some eq, compression and limiting in Logic Pro to make it a little louder. Watched a couple of your videos, I think they sound great! Keep up the great work. Totally forgot about this song. Think I'll add it to my set list for today's gig on lake Murray, SC.

Ronnie Hopkins have a great gig man!
@martyc51310 жыл бұрын
Great job Ronnie. What did you use to record the video? I assume it is a direct connection from the tc unit?
@grouchy22210 жыл бұрын
Yes, still learning how to use the Play Electric.Vocals from the XLR outputs into an M-audio 2626, stereo vocals, L&R. Guitar was going through a Boomerang III Phrase sampler into the guitar input on the Play Electric then out to the M-Audio 2626. I ended up with 3 channels, Guitar ch1, Vocals ch 2&3 stereo. I recorded with presonus, studio one on a Macbook Pro. Tweaked with a little compression and eq.
@pharmhound688 жыл бұрын
what tuning are you using? is it standard or did you tune in an open chord?
@ronniehopkinsmusic8 жыл бұрын
Standard tuning, it may be tuned down a half step, E flat. I find that tuning down allows me to sing without any strain.
@johnparsons34542 жыл бұрын
Great singer and guitar player but not a big looper fan.
