I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the fact that Archer ended up as well-adjusted as he is instead of a serial killer murdering women that look like his mother is a MIRACLE!

@@Comrade.Question No doubt! He could have taken the young and pliable mind of Archer and corrupted it. It would be easy to do, since his mother was such an easy thing to hate and use as a driving force.

440+6 refers to an optional engine package for 1970s Dodge muscle cars like the Challenger and Charger. It's usually called the "440 Six Pack", and refers to a 440 cubic inch (7.2 liter) big-block V8 engine with the "Six Pack" carburetor setup. The "Six Pack" was three 2-barrel carburetors on the same intake manifold, for 6 total venturii ("barrels" in car guy jargon) for air and fuel to mix. Generally, more fuel + air = more horsepower. At the time, most regular cars used a single 2-barrel carburetor, and performance cars usually used a single 4-barrel carburetor. The ultimate setup was what was called "dual quads" - two 4-barrel carburetors for 8 total.

A paycheck says Mallory probably told him not to bring the bike in the house! Seriously. Archer would've been better off if Mallory never came back and Woodhouse raised him. You see glimpses of it, but Archer loved Woodhouse when he was still very young. Mallory ruined him.

Didn't he call him a douche for trying to make it seem like Mallory wrote him a letter saying to be nicer to him? Kinda implies that Archer was always a jerk to his surrogate dad.

I don't think that Mallory ever intended for Archer to keep the car. She had it stolen the minute he left it alone and sold it before the day was out. Her plan was probably: make a big show of gifting her son an expensive car, steal it and sell it for profit; nobody would know and if Archer ever complained about it they'd blame him. Yikes. She's the reason for everything(most of everything) that's wrong with him, but we already knew that.

That's all very Mallory, but no, this really was her misguided attempt to teach Archer about responsibility. Granted, Mallory seems to think Archer letting it out of his sight and nor anticipating Mallory would have another key was irresponsible. Then again, Archer fucking with the police a couple blocks from his flat probably accelerated things.

@@silverblade357 The speed in which she did all of this suggests that she planned it, and honestly she should be smart enough to know that this "lesson" wouldn't have worked now if it didn't when he was a kid. And yeah, Archer can't have nice things.

@@sonofkarma5461 A person can be both. He deliberately let a man fall to his doom, crippling him and didn't feel the least bit bad for it. He did this twice. He does stuff specifically for his own thrills and benefit, and doesn't care one bit about the people he hurts doing that.
