Short story - My uncle (knowing that I'm a pack rat) found a big screen TV stand (the ones at Walmart with the glass table top) toss on his hunting club road and asked if I wanted it.... Ofc, I did 😁... Anyway, it sat in the yard for months and I had all kinds of ideas for it.. I decided to take it apart and that's when I saw it!!!....... I perfect rectangle frame; made with rectangle tubing! Now, today my drifter build is underway! I've been asking sellers on eBay about the axle kits... I'm thinking the 32" axle kit will work. I'm kinda stuck on what size tires I want to use... I've seen people saying not to go to big in diameter because if I do I'll run into trouble finding the PVC pipe for the sleeves... Idk

Looks nice. How long is that axle u running with... I'm going to attempt to build one, Would you think a 10 horse kohler motor be too big for it

Hi how to do the clutch or the race touch from the motor

Do you guys have plans for your build, as far as measurements? I’m in the same spot from where you guys started. I’m doing it by myself but have no clue where to begin.
@AdmrlSackbar11 ай бұрын
No, we don’t. We would definitely do things differently if we made another. First of all, we would use tubing about half the size we used. I believe we got 2” square tubing, and 1” would have been more than enough, and given us some more precious ground clearance. We would also probably make it as short as possible, with less caster angle. If you really want, I can get specific measurements for what we made so you can make adjustments from there when I get back from vacation.

Where did you buy the drive shaft from?
@AdmrlSackbar2 жыл бұрын
It was a live axle kit from gopowersports.com came with the axle, wheels, tires, rear brake (rotor, caliper, and bracket), axle bearings, axle bearing brackets w/mounts… pretty much anything to motorize whatever small engine project except the engine, and I believe the clutch and chain. Great company, super happy with their products.

I just picked up that same motor. My only concern is that it isn't going to be big enough. Since you built it what do you think?
@AdmrlSackbar2 жыл бұрын
What is “enough” depends on what you’re comparing it to. If you’re just trying to slide around on some grass, or with some pvc sleeves on, it’s absolutely fine. We also built a monster of a frame, if I did it again, I’d make the frame much shorter and out of smaller diameter tubes, but the engine is still plenty in my opinion. Also, the predator 212 is so cheap, and getting the trike built is the hard part. If it’s not enough for you, it’s super easy to change the engine out for something else, so I’d say go for it.

I'm building one myself and getting the predator 212 racing engine which seems to squeeze a lot more performance with a similar pricepoint

It’ll be plenty, plus there’s simple mods you can do to make it more powerful and after market upgrade parts to make it even stronger. I have a friend that had one running 30hp+ from all the mods he did

@@FlamingRayz what did he do to improve hp? I don't really know anything about mechanics or engines but me and a couple friends want to build one of these as a project

Hey man i just finished building my drift trike but for some reason it doesn't want to turn whenever i drive it mind you i dont have the plastics over the wheels you might know why it wont turn when im driving the trike
@c.mcdermo Жыл бұрын
Because you don't have plastic on the wheels. That's what acts as your differential since you don't have enough weight on your front end to steer

yoo nice trike maby cut some plastic pipes to fit over the tire up so it can slide more
@AdmrlSackbar2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! We actually have done this now, it just took a long time for us to find the right size because we bought wheels and tires that are apparently much larger than most people use for these things. If we built another one, I’d probably get pipes first, then buy tires to fit the pipe.

Hello it also has reverse gear
@AdmrlSackbar Жыл бұрын
No, just a centrifugal clutch. Only goes forward, and the only way to change the gearing is to change the sprockets.

Engine size and specs please?
@AdmrlSackbar2 жыл бұрын
It is a predator 212cc 6.5hp, like this one: www.harborfreight.com/65-hp-212cc-ohv-horizontal-shaft-gas-engine-epa-69730.html
We have since put pvc on it. It might be because it was the height of the pandemic, or because we had a sort of non standard tire size, but it took us a really long time to get our hands on pvc that kind of fit. To anyone attempting to build one of these, I would recommend researching wheel, tire, and pvc combos that work together.

Hi by the way I gave you a thums up and subscribe that is really cool to make my Question is WHY IN THE WORLD TO MAKE SOMETHING COOL AND NOT TAKE IT A UP A NOTCH. Drifting can get boring in a week why not just take it in the street why does anybody make something and don't take it in the street does not make any sense why build it why can't you go on an adventure with it why can't you take a cross-country with whatever you make quit taking in the grass you know how boring that is stop every people who have to stop that it's it's the boring thing ever why makes something cool and just take it in the grass for a couple of weeks and I go on with it it's the boring thing to watch in your entire life just to give you a heads up It is the boring thing to watch which makes something cool but not take it to the next level. TAKE THAT S IN THE STEETS NOW NOW. SEE NOW ITS MY TURN TO TEACH YOU ALL A LESSON. ON THE STREE LONG Distance Put some monster tires on there
