Drift XL Camera Mic issues How to Fix

Just saw this today Skip. I was out yesterday and I had been having trouble getting the cam bracket to stick to the helmet with the pads supplied. I changed this to Velcro pads and enroute home yesterday it blew off the helmet. Thank God the screw in mic saved the camera

Hi Gerard I used the stuff from screwfix and it is heavy duty, I also cleaned the helmet and I have been in excess of 70mph and it has not budged. I use the remote mounted on my handle bar to switch on my 3 drift XL cameras simultaneously (cloned group) if I press the remote button again the cameras take a picture while still recording, really handy feature

No Sir you are correct, I should have said the Mic was cutting out but when I spoke to Drift they set me a new Mic. The clip that came with the mic didn't work for me so I cable clipped it to my boom comms mic. Since this video was taken I have now just slipped the Mic head into the boom Mic foam cover and this has been the better way for me. I also raised the camera up slightly on the helmet so I can set the helmet on a flat surface without the lead touching the surface so it won't rub the lead or put pressure on the connection. Sorry for any confusion. BARNI

Hi did drift ever solve the mounting problem and make a convex (outward curving) mount. I saw your video where you use velcro to mount the mount and camera, I did the same with same camera and it works a treat.👍👍

I have submitted an email 4 days ago no reply. I live in Mexico Drift is not available, having to buy in USA and then sent to me. I understand the problem with the external microphone a 3.5mm TRRS adapter to TRS. thank you very much for reply.Greatly appreciated.

Hi ya, the Mic issue was brought on by the camera set to 'auto start' one button connect. Once I unchecked that item in the drift life app it solved the mic issues I had whereas some of the video didn't have speech. Sorry I can be a numpty sometimes when it comes to content. hope this helps.

Hi Allan if you go to their website and look up support, drop them an email from the page they will reply in a couple days as it’s a small firm covering the whole world but they will come back quickly enough. To purchase a camera just go to the website and set up a profile, once done go to camera page and add to basket, pay and it will be shipped to you in 48hrs. Or that’s how it worked for me.

A few people have suggested not to have WiFi on when recording with a microphone, as it causes interference

Yeh I found having the wifi on to connect to the app was the problem. Glad I got it sorted. Only now I think I may have a broken mic as its cutting out also lol gonna try a new mic this week.
