After visiting drifters web site and leaving an email address and phone #, I got a call from Steve. On a Saturday afternoon... Super nice guy and very service oriented. I've been searching around for a hiker trailer, and this just seems to fit my budget and needs. He's also local ( 5 hours away ) which is a plus for me....But I bet he'd make something happen for anyone farther away. We're going to head down soon to see some operations in progress and make a final decision. Thanks Guys!! I'm impressed!!

I would not say "better accessories" because I like the simplicity of the Primal Outdoors unit. More is not always better, I love the color and for those looking for more accessories this is a great trailer. I don't know if I'm too excited about a RotoPax of gas near the propane flame of the cook stove.

@@outsideinoregon sorry but a red RotoPax is gas and a white RotoPax is water, you play with fire all you want, but the fumes from a gas can within 2 feet of any open flame will cremate you before you can jump away. But we're all adults here so you can have a can of gasoline as close to an open flame as you feel comfortable. I'll keep my distance. fyi.

Very nicely equipped. The only thing I could think of to add to both trailers.Is better access to the rear storage area from inside. Maybe a sliding door to get to the opposite side easier.From the video the access hole doesn't seem to big.Be quite convenient in a snow storm or summer downpour.

Would recommend adding a propane detector on the inside. Nice improvements on version 3

Carbon Monoxide detector is what Terry is thinking of - Carbon Dioxide is what makes soda fizzle. The plants like it too. A propane detector might be nice, but I don't use one. I think a carbon monoxide detector is essential. It is not an uncommon problem and can kill you really fast. Its what you get if you have a flame of some kind without proper ventilation.

I really like the design and layout of the Drifter Trailers. The only thing that stands out that I don't like is the choice of door handles. I much prefer flush mount over the screen door type handle. Otherwise, great setup.

Thanks for another informative video. Really helpful since I'm in the market for an overlanding trailer. I've looked at Hiker Trailers and their build time is over a year out and I've also looked at Patriot trailers but, for the model I liked best, $46K + tax + the inevitable add-ons was a bit steep. My quest continues - Gen 3 looks interesting. I'm looking for more amenities than the basic trailer you have so Gen 3 is a possibility. Thanks!

Off Grid Trailers (made in Canada) As of today 2-16-2020 in my opinion make the best "over lander type trailers". @ $23,900 out the door with everything included/needed to hit the road comfortably (refrigerator, stove, sink etc...).

My problem is I have a small RV gate on the side of my house 85 inches and when you say 4x8 what is the fender to fender measurement? I just sold my toy hauler I got tired of paying storage. And I Wonder if he gives a cash discount.

BC the trailer is the box storage is key w/this design. Needs atleast an extra 1ft on back more rear storage. Nice tier2 off road camper. A piece of foam b4 u but birch on all four sides might b simple add, & in storage bin.

It took some digging on their web site, but for the Gen 3 is says: Gen 3 4x8 start $19,595... Gen 3 5x8 start $20,995. Such a great price compared to other off-road trailers we've been looking at.

Wow 20k+ yeah that's expensive alright. That is the price of a decently equipped Four Wheel Camper. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, FWC justifies their price with a strong reliable lightweight package and a history going back to the 70's. I don't know enough about this trailer and how its made, is it light, strong and reliable with a good warranty? Then it's probably worth the money if the answer is yes to all 4.

Are the walls made out of plywood that is just raptor lined?? If so he should really consider making them from aluminum or something lighter, stronger and actually weatherproof. That raptor liner will wear out and you will get water infiltration for sure. Sort of like how you don't want to just plywood a house then paint it- it needs a cladding or siding to protect it. Not to mention its really heavy material.

Its absolutely not Raptor Liner. Between the coating and the primer, we have a waterproof finish. Plywood with an aluminum skin will get condensation between the panels so that's, not an option for us. We are a little heavier than some of the other trailers on the market but I'm ok with that. Most of the weight comes from our fully welded steel tube chassis. Light enough for its intended use and strong enough to hold up to the job.
