That movie is what drove me to drive a truck. I did it over the road , coast to coast , for 47 years. Loved this song and Valerie ( RIP ) AND JAN ( RIP )

I Remember Talking My Mom Into Taking Me To See This Movie When I Was 11 Because I Loved Trucks !!! She Gave Into My Relentless Begging And Took Me To See It !!! She Just Passed Away At Almost 88 Years Old And I Found This Video The Day After She Died !!! That Song Was So Beautiful To Hear And It Will Always Be The Song I Will Listen To And Remember Her By Because I Drift And Dream About Her Taking Me To Watch That Movie !!! That Is Such An Appropriate Song For Me To Be Able To Hear Whenever I Want To Be Reminded Of Her !!!

I remember seeing this movie at Northwest Mall movie theatre when I was about 13. It made an impression on me then and I still like the movie story line and actors. I was curious about the music and a quick search turned up this gem. How cool. Thanks for posting, really a beautiful song. I keep playing it.

@C. Buck Hyres just speculation; . Val was between A&M (Howdy Moon) and Columbia(?) White Line Fever, Columbia Pictures released in '75. Maybe this as this was part of her record deal? before Just a Stones Throw Away, '77?

Tibs….Have it on my 'favorites' list and regularly immerse myself in it, usually playing it eight or ten times and never tiring of it. I read in another post about a guy who came to see the other movie that was playing with it, but this movie played first. For the life of him, he couldn't recall the 'other' movie, and because he so fell in love with this song, he saw the movie several more times before it quit playing, and, decades later vividly recalls this song...as do I. Simply magical.

This song resonated with me from the very first time I heard it. Got to see this with my young parents at the drive-in back when I was still small enough to sneak in underneath my Moms legs when they’d go for the all night horror showings that they loved to attend back in the late 70’s and early 80’s since it was a cheap night out for them. Saw some of the greatest classics of all time! Still one of my fondest memories growing up. I’m pretty sure the ticket booth employees knew what was up since there’d always be a few of us kids on the play structures in the field in front of the big drive-in movie screen before the picture would roll on nights they had restricted horror movies featured but they never once complained being pretty harmless small town fun. They were probably just happy having paying customers. And nothing ever tasted quite as good as drive in movie hotdogs and hamburgers! Mmmm!

I was 15 years old when I saw this movie and I LOVED it so much, I saw it six times!!!! Favorite Scene: When Carrol Jo walked out on that dock, looking like a U.S. MARINE, baby, come to TAKE his load. Then smiling, threw the shotgun to Pop's and said "Let's go!!!". Watching the Blue Mule get up on that interstate. We gone..bye, bye!!! I LOVED the 70s.
