Nice video; I love the Colorado mountain scenery. One simple camping suggestion to help stay warm and more comfortable from my experience. Ditch the air mattress; it does an excellent job of sucking heat out of you, and as the temperature drops overnight, the air condenses and the loft of the mattress decreases; causing you to wake up in the middle of the night with your butt touching the ground. Get a self inflating mattress pad; they have foam insulation in them , don't have to pump them up (magic), and they are much more comfortable; not as bouncy, virtually no air loss, and more resistant to punctures. You have to wrestle them a bit to get them rolled back up the next day but it's worth it for a nice nights sleep. Looking forward to the next adventure.

Two things - 1 please don't blow out trails with burnouts, but... I'm sure other people have said that already :) 2. Love to see you and your man keeping it real with the camping gear!! I have a TON of money invested in our backpacking gear - lightweight everything, etc, etc... but for car camping and overlanding, we follow it KISS (keep it simple stupid!) a $3k rooftop tent and a $10-30k trailer are NOT a barrier to getting up into the mountains, or desert, or whatever. The air mattress by the way - VERY good for SAF (Spousal approval factor). We even have some lightweight ones we bring backpacking, keeps the kiddo and queen MUCH happier on the trail!. Thanks for another fun and entertaining video!

I went there a month ago and it literally rained every single day. I wanted to do Black Bear Pass, but after coming in on the Million Dollar highway in the rain and then hiking on the edge of the mountains with 24" trails and straight drop offs my nerves were pretty fried. I wasn't willing to take the risk of doing BBP in the pouring rain. I plan on going back in a year or two so I will check those trails off my list. Its still beautiful in the rain, but way better when its sunny. I left for Colorado on 8/31 and it rained from Amarillo to Albuquerque to Ouray. Rained for 4 days in Ouray. Stopped raining when we left and was beautiful on over to Pueblo. Then began to ran again and I never saw the sun for 3 straight weeks of rain in Dallas.

Looks like Kevin got pretty good with the handbrake. It looks less like a drift and more like what's known as a front dig. Generally you'd want a two stick T-case but what you're doing is pretty much the same thing. Use the handbrake as a cutting brake and drag the rear so the vehicle pivots off the rear tire, tightening up the turning radius. You see it a lot in rock buggies.

I used an airmatress like thst once in CO and NEVER again. That type just seems to suck the heat right out of you!! You will loose some packing space but car camping I have found a short style cot works great, used WITH a camping pad. Thermarest etc. Since you have a jeep and space is sometimes limited cabelas quiet blind heater can serve dual purpose as a heater and a burner to cook stuff on. (I'm guilty and still use the smaller mr buddy heater though)
