So we're officially homeless and have finally begun our journey of living out of our Jeep! Our first stop - Ouray, Colorado to get the Jeep Badge of Honor Trails located in the area. And although the trails look easy, the risk is still very much there. Just ask Kevin! haha
Hope you all enjoy the video!

My wife and I drove our Jeep from Michigan to Ouray this summer. We had never been to Colorado before and had never driven on anything like these trails before. We did Imogene and Ophir. It was exciting for me as the driver, but I think my wife felt more like Kevin for the whole ride. Thanks for the great video, it was fun to see Imogene again.

Nobody's addressed the elephant in the room,,,,,,,,What happened with the recovery of the FJ Cruiser??? Best review of the Black Bear pass ever. Would be interesting to hear the story of that house by the water fall, literally a view to die for, not the place for a sleep walker. CHEERS Steve h.

Talking about the two wheel drive Four Runner....my wife and I honeymooned in Lake City, CO in 1974. We rented a jeep to take the pass over Engineer Pass to Silverton, CO. On the west side descent we met a Colorado local going up the pass in a 1963 Rambler sedan, six cyl. three on the tree manual transmission and he said he does the run every day to go to work and back home....so you don't need a bad ass 4 wheel drive to negotiate those mountain roads.... pretty amazing! Just get out there and explore!

We camped in our JL with a new IKamper in mid June outside Telluride and it was cooooold!! We stayed at Sunshine Campground then Amphitheater campground above Ouray. Love that place and the switchbacks of BBP had a huge slab from the top down three zigs. We might just make it four years in a row. Kevin said he was stressed out well yeah Imogene last year did it to me to, I was spent! A spiked rootbeer from Telluride fixed me up. Nice trip guys

You can purchase or create a DIY screen that extends around the pot and the burner. However, for the type of canister stove they have, you don’t want to put the screen around the fuel canister itself, as it could overheat the canister causing it to possibly explode.

If there is enough venting, yes it can work okay and safely. If the screen is wrapped too tightly around the pot and burner/canister, then the heat can actually accumulate and heat up the top of the canister, which is dangerous. Manufacturers like MSR also advise against this for these types of stoves. I too have many years of experience with these, but Britney and Kevin do not. My comment was just so they do this safely if they choose to use a screen. Cheers

That is a feeling that any hardcore driver feels when someone else they love is driving on such scary roads. Kevin is so used to being driving and taking risks, but he can never stand someone else taking such risks. He will be scared. It just shows. Britney is an experience driver too, so no way she will crash, except it was meant to be. But you see Kevin is just not used to being in the passenger seat while she takes the risks he does. That is why he was so scared.

Knowing that Britt and I have had similar childhood backgrounds and Kevin, a protector of our country like my Dad who I never had the chance to thank really inspires me to enjoy life. I went from homeless to building homes all over southern california . And guess what? The owner of Oakwood Communities where I started my new job is none other than the famous Trophy Truck racer Carl Redenezeder , and the Superintendent next to my project is Josh Baldwin . I especially liked your comments about the view and visiting this beautiful country that we are lucky enough to live in. Coincidentally, my brother posted a survey about where you have lived and visited in the US and where you have traveled. He was in the US airforce for 23 years then the Dept. of defense for another 23 years. I was in the Army for 3 years and traveled to a few foreign countries and was fortunate to be able to travel on my own in my 76 years to 30 US states and 10 foreign countries. Your travels allow people that are not fortunate enough to go to those places, to enjoy them through your eyes. Thnk you!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful video! I was in Ouray 2 months ago but Black Bear and Imogene were both closed. Kevin was so scared because although he is used to driving on scary ledges and taking risks climbing rocks, he is not used to being a passenger on such trails. He will be scared with Britney behind the wheel doing the same scary drives that he does with ease. Britney herself is a very capable and awesome driver, so she will not crash. Anybody can crash on Imogene Pass or Black Bear Pass. Kevin was just restless because he has never had the chance to sit there and let Britney tackle the scary trails with him as the passenger. It was his first. He will get used to. Britney, take the keys again next time. Thanks for all what you 2 do. Keep up the great work.

My wife & I did the telluride via ferrata 15:45 a while back, and I'm psyched you pointed it out. It's kinda like the Black Bear pass of hiking in Telluride. It's not hard, or too technical, but you can't trip. If you guys make it out there again, I highly recommend doing it. You do need a harness & via ferrata lanyard, but its really easy/fun.

My son and I were out there summer of 2017. Spent a couple nights in Silverton, a couple in Ouray, and a night in Lake City. We stayed mostly within the Alpine loop area and offshoots. We also did Ophir Pass and Last Dollar Road to Ridgway. To Kevin's point about being stressed...I drove the whole time. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and the scenery was ridiculous, but I was exhausted from the stress by midday every day. We would start early and by noon I was usually frazzled and needed a break. I think a lot had to do with "hoping" we didn't meet oncoming traffic in a really bad place.

I love your guys vids so much that I went and traded my pickup for a JKU. ( Wife thought I was nuts ). But after a few times on the trail she is coming around and having a great time. The JKU is a Rubicon but is stock so I have alot of work to do to it. I started with a front bumper and winch as I thought it would be good idea to be able to get myself unstuck if that happens. I used to race dirt bikes and have done some occasional 4 wheeling but would still have to say I have alot to learn. You Tube is a great place to learn how to set your ride up and to learn the basic necessities needed for a safe trail run. If you had asked me 6 months ago what a snatch block was you would have gotten a blank look from me, now I own 2 of them. I actually got up early this morning to do some wheelin before we have to go to a BBQ. this afternoon, and found that you guys had loaded another vid already, so of course had to stop and watch. Brittany, Thank you for the endless nights you spend editing your vids then getting up the next day for some more travel and wheeling, thats alot of work and effort you put into making this happen for all of us. Again thank you guys and and I will deffinitely rock Lite brite nation on the new Rubicon. Oh one last thing guys, got ya beat, ripped the plastic off my back bumper going down a steep rock ledge 5 HOURS after signing papers on the new jeep. So rear bumper is the next purchase, then lift, then wheels and tires, then , then , then , then.....ugh..:)

I think being more comfortable in the driver's seat is perfectly reasonable!!! I was participating in a ZCar Show/Jamboree near Mt. Shasta, in NorCal a few years ago and a bunch of us took off for the far side of the valley to camp there. There's a NARROW "sorta-used-to-be-paved" one lane path up the mountainside to the campground. I don't know what possessed me to ride with a friend of mine, but we took off down the hill to a little town to get some groceries. I climbed into the passenger's (wrong-side) of his 240Z and he took off like he was possessed! That narrow strip of asphalt was eroded by winter run-off to where sometimes half of the original surface was gone. I could see UNDER the asphalt layer that was hanging in the wind on many of the corners. I think he figured that more speed allowed him to fly over the interruption and we could just pick up the roadway on the other side!! Kevin, I have no problem keeping up with the pace from the driver's seat of my ZCar but he flat scared the crap out of me when I was on the WRONG side of the car!!! Caution is usually good. A steering wheel in YOUR hands is always a good thing! 😁👍

Trust me when i say...Its hard enough editing a full day down to a reasonable amount with ONE camera...yeah...my normal ride is atleast 4 cameras...and atm i'm like 6 videos behind because for every camera it takes exponentially longer to edit. So as cool as that would look...i wouldn't wish that on anyone who has to stay up till 3-4am editing while camping or driving!

Although that would be cool for extra footage, I really like the look and feel of the filming with your phone while providing commentary. It's very organic and authentic. I dig it.

Thank you for the awareness about strengthening the bond between hikers and offroaders! I enjoy doing both in my free time; and believe it not, both have their own positive and negative impacts on the Environment; it's way easier to find common ground - i.e. our love and passion for the outdoors. Also, thanks for the PSA about asking hikers/backpackers if they need any water! The Wife and I were on the last day of a 4 day, 3 night backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail a couple years ago when I became extremely sick - to the point I was cheddaring bile. It all started the morning of day 4, when I couldn't hold down any food, water or an Imodium. I was convinced I had gotten hit with norovirus - from the privy the night before (it was peak AT thru hike season). We were 15 miles from our Car and had already covered 35 miles the previous 3 days. We made it 6 miles over 3 hours before I couldn't go any further. Luckily, we made it to a Gap with a two lane mountain road. We waited there hoping a car would drive by, and finally after waiting 10 minutes we heard one coming. We ended up flagging down a FedEx Driver/Truck. We explained the situation and asked the driver if he would take us to the nearest gas station (that he told us was 2 miles away). Without any hesitation he told us to hop in; I guess my ghost white face reassured him how serious the situation was. He backtracked down the road he came from and dropped us off at the nearest gas station. From there we were able to find a shuttle to take us to our Car. After chugging several gatorades I immediately felt better. Having never been dehydrated before, I didn't realize I was severely dehydrated based on the symptoms I was having. Anyway, I will always remember that Driver and what he did that day, which was something he didn't have to do. I wanted to write a letter to Fed Ex to have him recognized; however, I didn't because I was afraid it would have gotten him in trouble. Can't wait to see you guys when you make it to the East Coast.

@12:40 that was from swaybars pulling down on the left which causes the energy transfer from gravity to push down on the right tire and roll them over. AKA what Brit said!

Kevin about to have a full panic attack on those beautiful narrow trails on the mountain lol. You guys try civilian or military MREs? Just pour water and the flameless ration heater will take care of heating. No need to boil water. But eating too many mre often might cause some constipation lol.

One of the things I preach about mountain driving is to KNOW where all four tires are tracking in every condition. Once you can place the inside and outside sidewall of all four tires within one inch of an obstacle while going straight or in a corner and even while articulating, your comfort level will drop your anxiety levels to near zero. I can spot a novice mountain driver usually within 30-seconds. Next, dry your brakes after going through water or mud. Use the engine and gears to slow your descent. Don't ride the brakes. If in doubt about ANYTHING... get out and walk the area until you KNOW what to do. Bulling your way will result in making an error... some of which can be fatal. There are dozens of other mountain driving tips that you either learn from someone who knows or spend a lifetime learning. Thank you for showing, explaining, and reinforcing the need to PAY ATTENTION. THAT is the first rule you do NOT break!! Wish I could have joined you. Being on oxygen at 12 and 13,000 feet is not enough to maintain, so I'm staying at the lower elevations.

I was in the rockies the last week in June. Most of the lower elevation trails were still half snowed in. Had to change plans too, my intended camp site had at least a foot of snow and was completely snowed in. Even going lower in elevation, my camp site still had snow. Pretty crazy.
