Thanks for the Vid Will. If the wind blows up late next week and I can't get offshore, I'll be giving the whiting a crack 🍻👍

Hey mate, great video once again, just wondering if you reckon there is still a few whiting around at the moment thinking of having a crack. It’s been a minute.

Thanks heaps mate I really appreciate it! I dare say there could still be a few around, but probably not in great numbers. Give it a try though! Personally, I’d be targeting flathead and stuff now that the temperature is starting to drop down. Good luck though mate, I hope you get a few 👍🎣

Great video Will. Really enjoy your content. Quick question for someone new to all this - How much do you look at tides and moon phase etc to pick a day to fish? Or do you simply go whenever you have time and make the best of whatever conditions you have? I.e. would you ever not bother going out based on moon phase or tides etc? Thanks!

Hi mate, thanks heaps for the comment and I’m glad you enjoy the videos!! 😁 to answer your question… Yes, we definitely do pay attention to the moons and tides, and that does play a big part when planning a trip. It’s very important! We personally find that fishing in general seems to be a lot better around the full and new moon (the few days leading up, and couple days after). This also means the tides will be larger and there will be more run in the water. So yes, we do try to focus our efforts and plan our trips around the full and new moon. We note down when all the full and new moons are, and then keep our fingers crossed that we will have some free time to go fishing around that time! I know it’s hard to find time, and often we really wish we could go for a fish because everything looks like it is lining up for a hot session - but we have other commitments like work. If we are halfway between moons though, we may not be as inclined to go to all the effort to head out for a fish when we know it’s going to very tough. It’s amazing how dead it can feel around the Broadwater when it is small tides and between moons! Then a week later you can go and do the exact same thing in the same spot, and absolutely clean up. We also check the tide times. For starters, you need a lower tide to pump yabbies for bait. However we also have to have a plan of how we’re going to fish for the day. We try to look for a run in tide where we can start fishing right on low tide - this is when the whiting start moving up onto the shallow banks with the tide to feed. If the tide is high or you are at the end of the run out tide, we prefer to drift over the banks and the shallower channels and gutters around them. So tide times also play a big part. I hope this makes sense and helps you out mate, if you have any other questions feel free to ask away! And thanks again for supporting the KZbin channel 🙌🎣

Been a few years since I've seen one of your videos mate. Have you been off the air for a while ? Are you still going to uni ? Hope you and Dad are both doing well.

G’day mate, it’s great to hear from you! Yes I was wondering how you were going. I have still been putting up videos regularly, but I don’t think KZbin is doing a very good job of letting subscribers know when a new video is up lately. I’m not sure what’s going on, but a few other guys I have talked to have said the same thing. If you search up my name every week or two though, there will most likely be a new video for you to watch! I’ve finished uni now and working full time, trying to go fishing, make videos, and play sport around that which is tough. We are doing well though mate, how have you been going? 👍🎣
