Drifting with live anchovies in the harbor-Spotties halibut and mystery catch

Live anchovies are an excellent bait to use in the harbors. Just about every fish will feed on them, and excellent fishing action can be had. This day, multiple species were caught drifting live anchovies inside Marina Del Rey harbor.

Nice video. What Harbor is this. It's been a few years since I've took my kayak out. Can't wait to get out there. Traffic just suck driving from the inland empire area.

Marina Del Rey, mint hookup baits have done well for me lately. Going to give live chovies a whirl this weekend like Alfredo. Great vid dude!

Did you use any of the dead anchovies? Every time I go to mdr they only have big sardines at the bait barge and considered using frozen anchovies

I have used anchovies that ended up dying by the end of the day. Works just as good. I don't typically use frozen anchovies though. Yes, the jumbo sardines aren't as good in the harbor. You don't get as many bass on them, but it's better for the bigger halibut.
