Great vudeo. I always enjoy watching guys catch fish. But my question to you is; what seemed to have work better when fishing the jigs do hooks at the bottom work better than hooks at the top of the jig??
@alfredog215410 күн бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. It's not obvious what hook configuration worked best, as all different configurations were used. I did hear that it's better to just use the hooks on bottom because otherwise your assist hook on top can snag the tuna on the gill plate, making it very difficult to reel in because you would be dragging the fish in sideways.

Fished the 2.5 day trip after yours. We put 49 on from 40/170. That guy in the black beanie and black jacket at 12:07 that the deckhand said “slide to the right” was on our trip and as annoying as H3LL!!! Hes fished BFT a couple times and was telling everyone how to fish. Anyhow great video and I ended up with 5. 3 @50, 1@75 and 1@170ish. Gave the big boy away to fishermen from Oregon who skunked!! Great big humble man!! Tight lines. 👍

Great content, thanks for sharing your adventure. I came back from a 3 day on 6/3 and already itching to get back out. That was a nice grade of fish.

1g per ft on the jigs, you need flat fall, knife jigs, hybrid like the SK jigs. You need to use different ones depending on current. Also the really long ones don’t work as well for some reason so cal weather doest really work with them. Rip rollers are bread & butter.
@JimWellman10 күн бұрын
I've only been twice, but I saw some really long 500 gram jigs work very well for a few people last week. Some were red, some blue pink and silver, and some that had been used so long that the paint was gone.

How many did the boat catch?
@alfredog215413 күн бұрын
I don't recall the exact total, but approximately 30 fish, most in the 80-110lb range

Thanks for the excitement. The Legend has been a top notch catching fish. Good luck next time pulling on those big fish. I highly recommend that you change jigs if you are not getting bit .
@alfredog215413 күн бұрын
Yes, I realized that too late into the trip. I believe typically the jig doesn't matter too much, as evidenced by the Eddie bomb phenomenon. They will bite anything that's moving in the water. In this trip though, there was a pattern of effective jig style becoming apparent.
@EdgarSanchez-nd3pq12 күн бұрын
Just get smaller profile bro . That’s what they’re hitting. West coast jigs have some nice smaller profile but heavy
@JimWellman10 күн бұрын
@@alfredog2154to your point about Eddie bombs.....I went out last week. The boats that pulled in the morning we left had caught many of their fish on Eddie Bombs. I fished two trips back to back and only saw one caught on an Eddie Bomb. Crazy how things change. I was successful on 300 gram Rip Rollers. Luma Polkadot and Ironman.

Nice rockfish. Sometimes even when BFT fishing I actually really enjoy when a captain will get the boat on a spot to pick up some tasty meat.

Yes, the fish stand a better chance of survival out in the open. The sea lions in the harbor were eating too many of the released fish previous times.

@alfredog21543 ай бұрын
It's a public launch ramp. Free to use. It's on the south side of MDR. Its closer to the harbor entrance and cuts down the paddle to the reef by 1 mile as opposed to launching from the dock 52 launch ramp inside the harbor.

Your video content is really good .But views and subscribers are much lower. To increase subscribers and views , you need to do channel SEO meaning your videos are not fully SEO. SEO is not friendly to your title . The SEO score is very low .SEO score you have to do 80 over. The main reason why videos go viral is because of video SEO and organic promotion . If you do SEO and promotion then lots of views and subscribers will come to your channel and you will be able to monetize your channel in a few days . I can help you .If you want I will work on your channel for free for 2 days. Then if your channel gets good results. Then let me work on your channel.
