Drill instructors are the most awesome creatures. They never sweat. They don't scratch at sandfleas. They never get confused or raþled. At least mine didn't. On reveille we had 2 minutes to get dressed. If anyone was slow was slow when the DI called time, you had to get undressed and start over. One morning the squad leaders and the fire watch quietly woke everyone before reveille. We all got dressed, racks made, gear straightened, and were standing on line at attention when the DI flipped on the lights. He opened his mouth to shout REVILLE. But when he saw us nothing came out. I had never seen a DI thrown like that. He only said "Eff me dead". Then he shouted "OK MAGGOTS, it's that way, huh? GET UNDRESSED! YOU GOT 4 MINUTES TO GET STRIPPED, THEN DRESS AGAIN!" Then it was 25 squat thrusts for effing with his head. That never happened again. Such cool individuals. Semper Fi.

@@JL-by6ceyou’re right! That shit was funny! Some of the kids coming in were just dumb as hell and got lots of special attention. Those were really hilarious! I was a little older when I went in, 20 years old, Alf was well prepared by my friends who were already in. So I already knew what to expect in almost every respect so I just went with the flow. But those young and dumb 17-18 year olds who had never been outside their own neighborhoods really had it rough! 😂😂
