Drill sleeve useful handmade tools | amazingly DIY great tool | Genius idea | Morse taper drill socket. way used drill sleeve and socket
Welcome To My Channel (Work Machine Equipment Technology) in our workshop you can find many things related to metalworking like:-
I used the homemade taper attachment to make a Morse Taper Drill Socket or adapter for the tailstock of my lathe. Build videos for the tracer carriage and taper attachment can be found here:
Mwetalworking tool hand tool DIY tool lifehack homemade tools Genius idea metal works experiment DIY idea inventions etc
Our Video is made who are not able to buy tools you can try to make by yourself only if you are experienced and know how to use the hand tools.
But the videos which are experimental are only for entertainment and educational purpose only.
So don't try this in your home.
And if you're trying to make any of the tools make sure to wear safety gear and it will be at your own risk.

The finished product doesn’t have a shiny smooth surface finish like the image that got me to watch this video. It looks rough and grooved like the cutters were old or chipping. The machinery used to make the product was beat up and abused by careless people who seem like they are always in a hurry.

Since you offset the tailstock why you don't use the power feed and do it manually?And how come you don't use attachment to turn the piece on the chuck?
@WorkMachineEquipmentTechnology
@WorkMachineEquipmentTechnology Жыл бұрын
The decision to offset the tailstock manually instead of using the power feed depends on the specific circumstances and personal preference. Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages. Using the power feed can be a convenient option as it allows for automated and consistent movement of the tailstock. This can be beneficial when you need to offset the tailstock over a long distance or for multiple operations. It saves time and effort, especially when you have to repeat the process multiple times. On the other hand, manually offsetting the tailstock provides more control and precision. It allows the operator to make fine adjustments and react to any unexpected conditions during the operation. Additionally, manual offsetting can be quicker for small adjustments, as there is no need to set up and engage the power feed. Regarding the use of attachments to turn the piece on the chuck, it is unclear from your comment what specific attachments you are referring to. However, in general, attachments can be useful for specialized operations or when the workpiece requires a unique setup. Different attachments, such as steady rests or collets, offer enhanced support and stability for specific machining processes. Ultimately, the decision to use power feed or manual offsetting, as well as the choice of attachments, depends on factors such as the nature of the workpiece, the desired level of precision, the operator's skill and experience, and the specific requirements of the machining operation at hand.

It sounds like you used to work for a company in Sheffield, England, that specialized in manufacturing various small tools, including genuine items like Jacob's Guylee and Archer Tools. These tools were known for their high quality, and they were manufactured with a hardened and ground finish. Sheffield has a long history of producing high-quality steel and tools, and many well-known companies in the industry have been based there. I find it interesting that lately there a number of people showing videos like this making old style tooling that’s more than 50 years old or older WHY ???? most machine shop do not use or have many machines that hold old MT Morse taper shanks which are out dated and have old tolerance not used anymore. I would not trust a part made by this method. Mist company’s don’t even make them anymore. The technology has passed them by and they won’t be in business long.

We have many cnc maschine, but it is sometimes quicker to do one only pice old school than program cnc lathe and prepare and measure all needed tools for this one piece only. Serial production is another story.
@WorkMachineEquipmentTechnology
@WorkMachineEquipmentTechnology Жыл бұрын
@@Kecman24 I understand your point. When dealing with a single piece or very low quantity production, it may indeed be quicker and more practical to use traditional machining methods instead of programming and setting up the CNC lathe. The time required for CNC programming, tool preparation, and setup can sometimes outweigh the benefits for small-scale production. Traditional machining methods, often referred to as "old school," can be more flexible and faster for one-off or small-scale projects. Skilled machinists can work directly on the material using manual tools, which eliminates the need for CNC programming and setup time. Additionally, they can make adjustments on the fly and achieve the desired precision without the need for extensive measurement and tooling preparation. However, when it comes to serial production, CNC machines offer significant advantages. Once the CNC program is created and the machine is set up, it can produce consistent and precise results at a much faster pace compared to manual methods. The ability to automate the production process also reduces the chances of human error and increases overall efficiency, especially when producing a large number of identical parts. In summary, the choice between using CNC machines or traditional methods depends on the specific production requirements. For single-piece or low-quantity production, manual machining might be more time-effective. However, for larger volumes or when precision and consistency are crucial, CNC machines are the preferred choice. It's essential to weigh the benefits and drawbacks of each method depending on the project's scale and complexity.

I haven't watched your video, but can tell you that (other than proving you can do this) this HAS to be a waste of time when you can buy a hardened and ground MT sleeve for a few dollars. And may I suggest a cheap pair of Harbour Freight safety glasses. to satisfy OSHA?
@WorkMachineEquipmentTechnology
@WorkMachineEquipmentTechnology 7 ай бұрын
It seems like you're referring to a video or project involving a machining process, possibly involving an MT (Morse Taper) sleeve. While I don't have access to real-time information and can't watch videos, I can certainly discuss the general points you've mentioned. If you're suggesting that making an MT sleeve from scratch might be a waste of time compared to buying one pre-made, that could depend on various factors. Buying a ready-made and properly manufactured MT sleeve might be more efficient and cost-effective for many individuals, especially if precision and safety are critical. Regarding safety, it's always advisable to follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses. It's important to adhere to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards to ensure a safe working environment. If you have specific questions or concerns about a machining project or related topics, feel free to provide more details, and I'll do my best to help!

No Morse taper is exactly 1,5 deg. It's a rounded value. MT angles are in the Internet if you do the search.

That sounds quite impressive! Having a comprehensive collection of technical drawings with full dimensions for every machine tool known to man would be an invaluable resource for engineers and manufacturers. If you manage to locate and organize those drawings, they could be incredibly useful for various industries, including manufacturing, engineering, and design. Such information can help in understanding the specifications, tolerances, and assembly details of different machine tools, facilitating maintenance, repairs, and even the creation of new tools.

I really like stupid Americans 🤣🤣🤣🤣, they are so cheap to buy because an Indian like this makes them for you, if no one does them, then this video would be useful for you because you would have to learn by yourself and this would not be a "waste of time"

The point is you make it yourself. Why would you even have a lathe if you don't make parts? Why do people make watches if you can buy them?

There are many reasons why someone might own a lathe, even if they don't make parts themselves. For example, a hobbyist might enjoy collecting and restoring old machinery, or they might enjoy the process of learning how to use a lathe even if they don't have a specific project in mind. Additionally, some people might own a lathe as part of their job or profession, but they might not always use it to make parts themselves. As for why people make watches instead of buying them, there are a variety of reasons. For some, it's a hobby or a passion that allows them to express their creativity and learn new skills. For others, making a watch themselves allows them to customize it to their exact preferences and specifications. Additionally, some people might view making a watch themselves as a form of self-reliance or a way to connect with the past, as watchmaking has a long and rich history. Ultimately, the decision to make something yourself or buy it depends on your personal preferences and circumstances.
