As a do it yourself electrician, plumber, carpenter, mechanic, welder, heavy equipment operator I love this channel. I have friends in the well drilling business and yet never understood the complexities involved. I could watch fail army or girls dancing to be entertained. Here I am learning as being entertained. Thanks for sharing knowledge.

Wow, I keep watching more and more of your content. Your father and mother are to be complimented on raising a fine young man. You have learned so many virtures from them both, and I dont even know them. I'm an old man, and I'd like to drill wells after watching you. Your work ethic, compassion, honesty, and humility are a direct correlation of your parents. "A mans wealth is not in what one has saved, but in what one has given." You are a very wealthy young man. God bless you, your family, and all your employees. Safe travels.

Worked on rigs for about 10 years, singles to triples, and your drilling, connections and trips are very similar in practice, just on a different scale. Main difference beside that being top drive as all that I was on were rotary table style. And ... I love the pipe tong, that was the icing on the cake 🙂 PS. Many thanx for your hard work, not only for the drilling ... and correcting other's mistakes, but the time taken to make these excellent videos. One thing I was wondering about is how you determine the flow rate on penetration before the pump is installed ?

What was that section of metal tube that was placed over the PVC casing right at the end of the video, looked to be about 20' long? @@SeedSowerMichele Interesting. Well, you could pull everything out, and have it flushed, and then flow tested. If it has good GPM, and the water quality test is good, then go buy a pump etc for it. But don't spend the money on pump, pipe, wire, cap etc until you know you have a good hole, and good casing.

Thank you, very informative video. If only I could come and watch you live. You're a great source of very good information. Back in Uganda, I came across a cracked borehole whilst drilling. The water is draining away somewhere when drilling using mud water pump. The crack seems to be around 5M from the top. This seems so because the water table is stable at that point when water is poured into the borehole. No casing is installed yet. So far we are at a depth of around 20M with enough water at that depth. Whats' the solution, abandon this borehole or do you think the casing will cover the cracked area when installed.

What's the best way to remove iron? I really freaking hope you respond. I had a well relocated 25' away from old well because of an addition we built, that required a 200' deeper well than the original (which was perfect quality) had to have the new well fracked because we couldnt get much flow. Now we have plenty of flow but the iron is off the charts. Please help!!!!!

The architect or builder should need to eat that mistake. They could put up a couple of masts and go overhead or drill underground into the garage. Can you stand your drill rig on end and drill horizontally from the well to the garage or all the way to the mechanical room? We all would love to see that one! Maybe they can put in a wind turbine and solar panels! Please share with us their solution. I too love your videos! Have a happy Thanksgiving!

I wish you'd make a video going through the details of how you drill a well from start to finish. NOT actually drilling a well, unless you think you could do so in a timely way, but talking us through the drill. What I'm having problems understanding is what diameter drills/casings you use and when? Initial drill is with an 8 or 10 inch drill, followed by setting a 8 inch casing, followed by drilling a 6 inch hole down through/to bedrock until you hit good H2O?? Please make that video!! 🙂

2 questions: 1) Why was it required to lift the front of your rig in the air? 2) Since you hit water at 225' why not just put your pump in the "mechanical room" and pump from that location?

Should be easy enough to run standard building wire through the house be it 10-2, 10-3, 12-2 or 12-3 depending on the horsepower and pump type. You seem to use mostly 2 wire pumps. Then go out through that garage wall with a flush mount box on the inside and an LB on the outside. Then conduit to the wellhead and make it all nice with a pitless adapter and a proper Boshart aluminum well head cap that has a threaded adapter for conduit.

I know the power her presents a big problem. Would something like a simple pump system with the ability to run it on multiple configurations such as solar, electric or a handpump be a good option? The way I understood those they could run it as solar with a battery backup and possibly not need electricity ran to the well shed.
@Nidkidful
@Nidkidful 10 ай бұрын
With the shading from the trees, there's not a ton of solar available, especially with the leaves on, and when they trench the water lines in, running electrical is mostly just cost of wire at that point, as even if you put them in different trenches, you already have the equipment on site to dig the trench.
