I neighbor had a couple irrigation wells witched in. Guy did it from a plane. The first well they didn't drill where he said to and it was very good. The second he told them to drill right where he said to. It was a much better well. The first well has had to be moved now and the second is still going strong.

Involved in water well drilling for 20yrs. Saw dozens of witchers….hundreds of wells….never saw any consistency…the only way to prove…is to disprove….an expense no one can or will do.

Can’t say I’ve ever tried it for drilling a well. But I’ve done it myself for water lines and tile lines and I can normally find them within a few feet.

Cant witch for water, i dont think never tried, but 2 brass rods bent in a L i can hold them straight out and walk, when they cross there a water line, tile line or electrical line.

It's funny how underground aquifers are probably larger than that slough/dugout and yet water witchers claim to find water to the nearest meter. Like a meter or two either way is going to make a difference.

I have family members that can do this. I never used to be able to but can now and it is a wierd feeling. The ability to divne water coincided with having static electricity issues.

We have a guy who is great at witching.. he does irrigation wells and always finds a place where numerous strata cross at different depths. He tells us how deep the strata are if it's artesian and what flows to expect. He's always right.
@coryhusnik35836 сағат бұрын
This is hilariously not true! Sticks aren't going to tell you how many gallons a minute there are in the ground
@delbutler8853 сағат бұрын
@@coryhusnik3583the guy doesn't use stocks he uses brass welding rods. I watched him witch 5 spots and had people say move over there by the power line. The driller said that there's no water there. But I'll drill a test hole if your right it's free. If I'm right you pay me. They drilled 500 feet and not enough for a domestic well. They drilled where the guy witched it and they hit 3 strata where he said that they would be and the wells all pumped between 4000 and 14000 gallons per minute. He made a believer out of me.

Water divineing has been used for hundreds if not thousands of years, most if not all people that drill wells in Scotland and north Europe use that technique. Only time they don't use it is when people don't believe and are willing to pay for extra or deeper holes to be drilled I have used it to find waterpipes before digging in an area and my flags were almost on top of the pipe compared to the 50+ year old drawings from the local water authority which had them 5 metres away

Suppose I was to crawl around in a mature corn field, face down, and without looking higher than a foot above the ground. Periodically I declare "Yup, there's a corn cob right here!", so you reach up, and sure enough, there's a cob. Would you think "yeah, this guy's good at finding corn"? Now suppose I was to do exactly the same thing in a wheat field: "Yup, there's a corn cob right here!", so you reach up, and... nothing. You're either going to think "well that's unlucky" or "this guy's a nut job!" In other words (some) witchers can read the landscape and/or have local knowledge that water has or hasn't been found in that region before. Basically... they know which field is growing corn, and which field is growing wheat. Knowing that there is, or is not, likely to be water in a particular area is not necessarily bunkum (at least, if the person has local or landscape knowledge). As for the "right here!" part... but not 10 feet this way or that way - that's just trusting to luck/probability. Declare that there's a corn cob "right here" in a corn field, and much of the time you'll be right. Don't declare it in a wheat field (or anywhere else that you already know there isn't likely to be corn), and much of the time you'll still be right... or at least... nobody will check if you're wrong!
