I am very saddened to hear of the passing of the great Perry Kurtz. He was a local Los Angeles legend in the comedy community, forever young at heart and filled with a contagious joyful silliness. I have nothing but fond memories of our days shooting the music video “Drinking Beers and Smoking Cigarettes” together. He was so kind, funny, inventive, creative, and up for anything. You will be missed, my friend. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones in these difficult times. I sure hope there are beers and cigarettes in heaven.

So there's 25 cigs in a pack and a pack cost $10 (where I'm from). That amounts to 36500(10)/25=$14600. Now there's 24 beers in a case and a case costs $30. So 365,000(30)/24=$456,250. I can't believe welfare in this country is covering somebody's $470,850 per year drinking&smoking habit! Maybe I will vote Republican in 2016!

stonerminmcjoe Thankfully, I never smoked cigarettes, just the occasional cigar. I love them but I know they are terrible for me, so I try to cut down to maybe 1 or 2 a month. However, where I live, the poorest state in the US (Mississippi) cigarettes are abut $5.30 a pack for Marlboro/ Newport/ Camel and about $7.00 a pack for upscale things like American Natural Spirits or Nat Shermans.

mikevismyelement Our cigarettes here are very different from American, though I've only tried Marlboro and some other kind and they tasted very different, more like a cigar. Our cigarettes have a unique taste, maybe it's lower grade like everything else here lol. Our minimum wage in my province is like 10 something though so it's not a huge deal, but our food and clothes are so expensive compared to all American states I've ever been to. And our tax is 13% on the dollar which is higher than anywhere I've heard of.
