I know this is a late comment but this is something I found out through accident. as a shaman, any spellbooks you learn you can put on the polymorph hotbars and use while transformed, so since rat poly regens mana fast, you can put low cost spells like cold or forcebolt on rat and basically be an endless damage magic chain gun at higher levels. even funner with the vampire doublet so you have even further mana regen while sacrificing your hp regen. also a thing to do for all spell casters is something I call 'book trades' where at the start just toss your spell books you've used/learned to one another so everyone gets the benefits unless the spellbooks are torn in which they will break and disappear after one learn use. spell books can get repaired with enchanted feathers but due to scarcity I typically dont bother unless its rarer spells.

Only if you have a group to play with as the game is kind of cheesy on both ends of the spectrum. The gameplay can feel unfair and brutal but that can happen to the player and the enemy depending on your luck. The mechanics feel like they are missing part of the puzzle to be an engaging dungeon crawler IMO, yes i do own it with 50 hours which is arguably not enough but i blame the game not drawing me in

Learning curve is up there, Friends will be needed to actually enjoy it carelessly... or rather to be more reckless. I beat it completely twice with a few friends over a few days at a time because we explored every nook and cranny per level a few months back... friend tries to figure out all the secrets and shit so the boss(mid) was way easier once we got everything set up to how we wanted.
