Yep. Sounds like mother had narcissistic symptoms. My mother used to be so mad that I was closer to her mom than she was. When my grandmother passed away, she basically tried to erase all the times I had to stay with her because my mother kicked me out or because we were moving again. My grandmother was VERY outspoken about my mother’s abuse so it definitely pissed her off that those conversations with my grandmother is what made me realize my mom was not a normal parent. How my grandmother, a total saint, somehow gave birth to the demon that was my mother will never cease to amaze me.

@gabeminajjАй бұрын
@@Jtrich1015 I've only seen this online. In real life when people's tasked with it, they usually consent because they're genuinely innocent of the accused crime. I've never seen or heard of a dude saying "You want to search my car for a body in my trunk? You think I off'd somebody, officer? Well- no!" Every single time a genuine innocent party is asked for consent to search they just go "I don't care, do it." Everyone's a Ricky, including me. Only thing I find moronic is actual criminals consenting to a search. If you know you're guilty, why tf would you let them search through your stuff without a warrant? But eh.
@The_Real_MierАй бұрын
@@gabeminajj They don’t ask for consent to search FOR A BODY IN THE TRUNK. They just ask for consent to a search of the vehicle. I think that almost everyone would consent to a search for a body, if they are told that. But the police is also known for trying to find ANYTHING incriminating and ask for permission to search someone’s car without any indication of anything criminal whatsoever, which is actually not allowed, as is stated in the Constitution: There MUST be a reasonable suspicion of wrongdoing before searching someone’s property (car of home)… Remember: it is not unusual to take up to over an hour (!) to search someone’s car… So why would anyone agree to that when they have done absolutely nothing…?
@gabeminajjАй бұрын
@@The_Real_Mier You can reason why someone should or shouldn't do it, I'm just saying I've only heard of this concept online. In actual real life, innocent people consent to searches all the time. Big and small. And CAR searches don't take over an hour, I don't know where you've heard that from. Exceptions doesn't override the rule, at most it's like 30 minutes. I've been searched 10+ times (marijuana related) and it's NEVER taken anywhere NEAR an hour, nonetheless half an hour. 20 minutes at MOST. Nine times oujt of ten, if a cop wants to search a dude's car and he knows he has nothing he'll say "I don't care, do it." I always see people say "cops want to find anything to lock u up" but overall I just disagree. Dudes just want to look what they're looking for then dip. This whole paranoid schizo "all cops are out to get you" mentality is for the birds, to me. If you're genuinely innocent and don't possess anything illegal, then that's null and void. I have nothing in my car, why would I prolong the inevitable by trying to debate-bro with a cop in the middle of the street? I have nothing in my house. If a bunch of cops are outside beating around the bush that they're looking for a missing person, I'm not going "Well, uh. I'm gonna need that warrant champ-" No. I'm just going "Alright hurry up, I got a Madden game on pause rn." They'll take twenty minutes looking in and around my rooms, see no one's there, then leave. If I'm stopped by police in my car and they "smell" some stuff, I know I don't possess anything illegal. If they want to search it, search it. I'm not a criminal. If I'm innocent, I have nothing to hide.

To be fair, that tends to happen with certain missing persons reports. Especially adult men; a single man or divorced father can end up face down in a shallow grave somewhere, and police will sometimes just shrug and say, “Eh, he’s allowed to be missing, he’s an adult.” Happens more often than you’d think. The reason this case went far enough for the body to be found was the family pushing so hard. If they hadn’t, she might’ve actually gotten away with it.

It probably was, we weren’t shown the whole interrogation. The editor spliced it up to cover the core info, with smooth editing so it’s hard to tell. The detectives could probably sense from his demeanor that he truly had no idea, and it’s also believable that he’d very rarely have a need to go into his girlfriend’s mother’s garage to be in a position to discover the body. Lastly, the cold weather would have slowed decomp and assisted in keeping the smell contained. Notice how the officer’s didn’t get a strong sense of the smell until they uncovered the bin. All of that points to his believability.
