Do you have a leaky valve at your home? Is one of your valves you find in your valve box causing a lot of pooling water? As parts are inexpensive and you would have to dig the whole box out, it would save you time and money to have the valve and filter replaced altogether.
Here are the steps on replacing the valve & filter of your leaky drip line,
First we would have to disassemble the damaged valve. In this case, taking it apart would be necessary in order to unscrew it since it’s so close to the other valve.
Now that the valve is unscrewed, we would then attach the new valve right into the existing threads or line so that we wouldn’t have to completely redo the manifold.
Keep in mind, before connecting the new valve make sure to look into the direction in which the water would need to flow since the valve has indicators, as seen in the video, that can help you attach your new valve in the right direction.
After attaching the new valve, make sure to do a test run to see if the new valve is holding the water.
If the valve is holding up, we would then attach the rest of the line and test every now and then to make sure there would be no leaks.
Now, we would need to attach the filter. Same as the valve, the filter would also have indicators, as seen in the video, in which direction you would need to attach it to. This is so that the water will flow in the right direction. Make certain that you use teflon every step of the way.
After attaching the filter, test the line. Check that it would hold the water and that there is no leakage of sorts.
Now that the valve and filter have been successfully replaced, the last thing you have to do is to detach the old (solenoid/solenoid) and connect the new (solenoid/solenoid) so that it’ll link up and work with the timer.
As you connect the (solenoid/solenoid) lines, please remember that one wire has to go to the white ground wire and that there will be another wire connecting to the timer. The number of lines would be equal to the number of valves. If you have two valves, there should be two (solenoid/solenoid) lines.
