Great Explanation on using Drip Tape. I have been using it in my garden (about the size of a football field) with a very low yield well with very high mineral (sulfate) content with pressure reducer for about 4 years now. Best thing since sliced bread from my perspective. I purchased the 15 mil tape from Drip Depot expecting to have to replace it each year, but not from UV damage but emitter mineral clogging. Much to my surprise, have had neither problem yet and keep on truckin' here in NE Wyoming. Where gardening is always a gamble between the hail storms and the cold fronts! Thanks for the video!

I to changed to drip tape this year. I very much agree with all your comments, both pro and con. The emitter on mine are 1/2 gallon per hour, and as I recall 8 inch spacing. My only question is how did you attach the bungee cord to the drip tape? That sounds like a good answer to the biggest problem. What town is your farmers market in? A trip to the Big Hole Valley is on my bucket list for next year. Just might be able to add to the trip and see your market stand. Have a great week. Fall is sure here, had very light frost Saturday morning, not enough to do any damage.

Now we both need to see how long the drip tape will hold up! I’m glad you agree with the pros and cons. As far as the bungee cords, we used a zip tie on each one around the end cap and hook of the bungee cord. Then we used a landscape staple on the far end of the bungee cord to secure it to the ground. They held well. We did put them on when it was hot and expanded. This way they held with the contraction during the night and didn’t over expand when it was hot. Also we used long bungee cords to allow for more stretch. Fall is just about here. Where do you live? So far, we have not had our killing frost yet, but it looks like this might be the week. It’s the Helena farmers market. If you come visit we are only at the market from about the last week of August through mid to late September. Every year is different and we just go when we have a bunch of extras. Hopefully next year we can extend the farmers market season a little since we plan to have access to a high tunnel. Hoss has a great implement for laying down and covering drip tape. It’s a little over $500

Most people bury the drip tape.
