Great video Adam! I will be adding a pressure regulator, backflow regulator, and a filter to my current set up. Thank you for making these videos for us home gardeners. I call it lazy gardening because I don’t hand water my plants often 😂. Love from California.

You're very welcome Dave! Thank you as well, your guide to installing drip in raised beds is one of the best out there, keep rocking it!

How do I add a pressure regulator to a manifold valve that standing rather than being in a valve box? Thank you :) Great Channel!

If it's a standard solenoid valve you could safely do it the same method, putting the regulator at the valve outlet after the filter if you're using one. If no filter, the regulators can thread on to a male threaded nipple as well :) If I misunderstood your question at all, just let me know, happy to revise!

The install pamphlet on a number these filters suggest the canister should go down. I see it up here. No problem?

It can go either way depending on if you're using a screen or disc filter --- I suspect you have a screen filter from the sounds of it. If it's a disc, it goes the opposite way. This is because a screen filter filters from inside out and a disc filter filters from outside in, so they get installed in opposite directions. Some filters will have an arrow to indicate the direction water should flow -- if it's a filter that can use a screen or disc element, it will often have two arrows to indicate direction of flow, and they should be labeled "Screen" or "Disc". Great question, thank you!

This type of filter is easy to clean, yes?

It is reasonably easy to clean -- to clean the filter in the video, you unthread the top of the filter. Inside is an element you can pull out to clean. These filter from inside out, so most people just spray the outside with a hose nozzle or something similar. This will get debris off the inside of the screen -- if some is stubborn (algae and soft organics can get stuck, calcium build-up too) a soft brush can complete the job. In some systems I've found the hardest part in cleaning it was accessing it in the valve box, but with how the top threads off you don't need an incredible amount of room, just enough to get your hands in there and turn the top until it's unthreaded :)

Did you just demonstrate how to setup a manifold and install the Y filter backwards? Don't those always lean the way of the flow?

Sort of! We ended up having to use a disc element in this one and when going disc you have to reverse the flow -- a screen filter filters from the inside out and a disc filter filters from the outside in, so water has to enter from the other side. We ended up needing to go to a disc due to soft organics in the water (disc being a little better at organic content, screen a little better at hard/mineral content).
