I have a 200l barrel 30cm above ground connected to 2x25m dripping lines and it works perfectly

The problem of gravity irrigation is 1. Distance between source and drippers. 2. Level of water in your tank. You need to keep the level of water consistently otherwise when the water level drop drippers at farthest gonna stop first and you need to adjust every drippers to made it work as normal again. Or get a water pump 100-200w dc with solar panel is enough for low rate drip irrigation all day.

I think it really depends on the height of the tank, the higher it is the more the pressure flow to the drip tapes.

@@relaxationvisualsounds6441 Yes, Height provide more pressure too. Also the distance if you have many spots to drip water like dripping tape. Each spot of dripping decrease a pressure in next dripping spot. But a pressure compensate dripper can solve this problem which can give you a constant flow rate along a tape.

@@relaxationvisualsounds6441 Yes, They usually use that name or you can begin to search from Netafilm (They called this type of dripper as PJC dripper). A bit expensive compared to other brands but I found it more reliable in long use.

Good way to irrigate without power supply. Idle idea for area where electricity supply is problem. It's better to cover the water tank by small shed to avoid heating of water

attention : your deposit water heats up too much by sun resting oxigen to plants' roots if you wouldn't cover it by ivy or reflectors & isolation from the heat ! you can see the oxigen saturation tables for water of certain ºc from fish breeding: at 30ºc it would have a max. saturation of 6% only, higher up it worsens !

Very recently i saw one gravity drip irrigation which requires 60cm water input pipe height from the ground. So no need to have such a big stand.

However, some farmers still use granular fertilizers, especially for crops that may need slow-release nutrients or for specific soil amendment purposes. For the most efficient use of a drip system, fertigation (injecting liquid fertilizers directly into the irrigation lines) is preferred. This method delivers nutrients directly to the plant roots, ensuring better uptake and reducing nutrient loss due to leaching or runoff.

for drip tape system, you need 15psi water pressure. Just means, water tank height should be 10 meters at least. I found you only have two meters.

Sir on my personal experience 2 meters height are sufficient : A filter on tank outlet. Hose section 1/2" NP4 20 mm external diameter. 50 meters lines work well. Better discharge initial water which gets hot under the sun.
