As a kid, I spent an unbelievable amount of time on this game.. Of course I played through the story, but I could spend hours driving around the cities and exploring every inch of them on wheel and foot. The Timmy Vermicelli's would always scare the crap out of me, and I'd look through all the creepiest areas trying to find them. This game had flaws (and CRAZY glitches) but I think it was seriously underrated as an explorable game. Not one but THREE big, detailed, beautiful cities, each one distinct. There was also weird shit hidden in them, and I'd get such a rush discovering them (like the go kart track!). All the places in these games are memories in my mind, almost like real places

I totally agree and feel the same. It's like you did some holiday in the driver cities. And because of all the hidden places and gems it's like you could tell stories about your trip to the USA, Europe and western Asia. I loved it too. And when I read your comment about the hidden go-cart track, I could hear the funny sound of the small racer in my mind doing his rounds alone.

Had this game when i was 7-8 years old and absolutely loved playing it! Never really done much of the story missions cos i was too young to understand them but i just loved driving around Nice and the other city I cannot remember but what a game this was!!

Man I seriously hope we get a new Driver game that is just like Driv3r was.. next gen graphics, huge open world.. think EUROPE... and darker strong story, god that would be amazing!!! As hard as they tried with this, the graphics for PS2 were fantastic, same with the original and Driver 2, well ahead in some form or shape. The original Driver was the first true 3D driving exploration game with an intense story, the second was getting out of your car and going on foot (And even having a sit down at a table LOL)!, stealing other people's cars and feeling the yet again gripping story. Driver 3 did it with the Graphics and the motion capture. Sadly the story did lack a bit and there were many bugs, but what game doesn't have them?! Driver 3 just had them in the wrong places! Especially in the PC version.

I dont remember it being buggy-i played the xbox version. Driver 3 had great attention to detail, from buildings, cars to character models, music was superb, voice acting top-notch, story was like watching a movie like heat, ronin etc. The main problem, however, was that driver 3 wasn't fun.

As a Turkish, I remember that days, It was a huge thing for us because can you believe it?!? That game was literally in Istanbul, We were sooo hyped about it, that days people didn’t knew us that much. And a game like Driver?!? It was fascinating for us to play this game in Istanbul, It’s like Gta 6 but in Istanbul, It ment lot for us, anyways… Then the game published, and that was a TOTAL DISASTER! And Rockstar had already published Gta San Andreas. So it just became history…

Tanner kills the driver for calita to get into her crew so they test your loyalty. Jericho kills Solomon Caine from driver 2 previously to all this to take over his business and sets up a deal with the Russians for some shipment of cars that calita has got. You go from miami to Nice to Turkey to follow the cars. The cars are already shipped out so they follow the money, the Russian and jericho meet and the Russians screw jericho over so he kills them and is on the run with the money. Tanner and Jones watched the deal go down so they have their evidence and track him down. Leads to a firefight in Turkey between cops and Jerichos crew. Tanner takes down Jericho and is about to shoot him when Jericho wakes up says mistake and shoots Tanner. The game ends with Tanner flatlining.
