Yes it did. Not in the British Army but Chieftains were used by Kuwait against the Iraqi invasion. The British Army did not retire Chieftain from service until 1995, but did not deploy them to the Gulf War. Also the Cold War was concurrent to the First Gulf War and did not really end until later in the year.

Perhaps the Boston Pops needs to trade up. They only use a pair of 105mm guns for the 1812 overture. with blanks yet. I wonder what these Texas folks do for the Fourth? Some Boston drivers behave as if they were driving a tank already. Drive Tanks is living History, no movie or museum can match. Good bless you all.

The chieftain tank never served in the 1st gulf war the challenger 1 served in the gulf war the chieftain was obsolete it was developed for the European theater against the Soviet tanks like the T 72 MBT :)

They have to fill out paperwork and pay $200 in extra tax per round. I've got no idea how much a 76mm round costs but the mass produced 120mm rounds fired by Abrams cost 4-8 thousand a shot depending on the type.

Depends on the round there only able to get solid ap shots because of laws and stuff but tanks on the battlefield do shoot stuff with explosives in it

In WW2, yes, almost every round a tank fired contained explosives. APHE, APHEBC, HEAT, HE, etc. Even their utility rounds like smoke and shrapnel contain explosives. However nowadays most tanks just fire APFSDS (Armour Piercing Fin Stabilised Discarding Sabot) rounds, which is basically a steel dart that travels at Mach 4 and above
