@slygunslinger2 жыл бұрын
Drive is a film that broke so much new ground in the genre than people realize. Not even Micheal Mann films have had this level of cannon style and perspective that the film carries in the crime genre. I'm glad to say I saw this in Theatre when it came out when it was relatively underappreciated by average movie goers; even Tarantino said he wasn't too fond of it. It's not a film for everybody, and it's not perfect, but when there is a scene that shines, it transcends the art form into new plateaus and is a sure classic.

I'm late to watching this. But I watched this last night and I am completely speechless at how much I related to how he feels. The timing couldn't be any coincidental either. And this isnt because I'm trying to fit into the "literally me" meme I'm also very quiet, people call me out for it even. I have the same love for driving, driving constantly day and nights. I also fell in love with a woman, who is a mother to a little boy. The kid even resembles her son completely. A genuine woman, someone who also actually loves me and wants me. I also was taking care of her and her son. I also had the same care for them both how driver has. Being around them was when I actually felt true happiness and joy on the inside. I love her more than anything in this world Though due to the reality of life and everything, I had to let her go a few weeks ago though she still loves me. Though I don't know about the future now maybe something will happen. But for now it is what it is. And when he said something along the lines of "Being around you and your son, has been the best thing that has ever happened to me" I paused the movie for a minute and just processed everything. It sent chills down my spine because I said the exact thing to my her. Unbelievable man. And I love the edit

Why is it that the drive to and from where you’re going is both the best feeling in the world and the worst? When you work nights like me, all you’ve got to keep you occupied on the drive to and from work is the radio, outside traffic, and your thoughts. And it’s both the best feeling in the world and absolute horror because you’ve got all that time to yourself, but you realize that there’s nobody there but you. Just one of those weird shower thoughts I’ve had for a while…
