I think a nice addition would be for the heat shield to be part of the convertible top mechanism. "Normal" operation the top raises and closes as it does currently. "Maintenance" or "Show Engine" option the 1st stage lifts up as it does now and then the heat shield would lift up showing the engine. I agree the Z51 spoiler both the regular and the high spoiler do not look good. GM needs to figure out a active aero. The color options are amazing. black nacelles or body paint color. The buyer can really customize this car.

I had the torch red selected but I told them to change it to CMG right before it went to 3000 status but that looks so nice tough somewhat regretting the decision but Red mist and torch red makes up 44% of all corvettes sales but I hvnt seen my car yet so I’ll wait to judge

The only thing that bothers me is the heat being trapped in there in the engine compartment ...they should have shown the engine like Ferrari does on some models...also there is talk about transmission leaks in the gasket within a 1000 miles...and not being able to buy a replacement gasket...has anyone else heard about this ?

2LT and 3LT come with the rear view camera. When the top is down, it can't be used, but when it's up, it's good to go.

Looks better than the coupe with the top up, looks more sporty to me and it would be much easier to keep clean without the engine bay showing. My OCD and all the dirt and water spots in the engine bay and all over the rear glass would drive me crazy so I would choose the droptop and save myself a headache. 😄✌

@Mar Blox ALL of the previous soft top convertibles look like hell with the top up, they only look good with the top down. The C8 convertible looks better than the coupe with the top up because you cant tell its a drop top unless you are a person really into cars/vettes and still looks good with it down. Also those "mountains" look great.

@Mar Blox I own both a soft top convertible and a hard top and there is no doubt the hard top always looks better. I’ve owned many convertibles including hard top Ferrari’s (California Ferrari T) and it would look cheap If it had a canvas top, same with my Mercedes SL. Don't understand the hype. Once you remove the roof and put rear window down on the non convertible model, they look the same.I would guess convertible model weighs more,and costs more.Furthermore, you can't view the engine on the convertible. If pushing a button to remove the roof is your thing, then have at it. I will be saving weight, and money on my C8 build.

There are many advantages besides the convenience of just pushing a button. If you travel or shop you get to use your rear trunk which can hold two carry on bags even with the top down. You also don’t have to worry about spots on the engine. The top weighs less than 80 pounds so it’s like have a child in the car with you. Plus it looks cool going up and down which you can do while driving up to 30mph. Plus it’s more unique, especially with the all block top.

One more convertible advantage is that the back window goes down so you can listen to the motor and also there is less wind buffeting.

I think people like the convertible because its quicker and easier to get the top down. I hate having to remove my c7 targa top. Then only to dove somewhere and it rains then I have to pull over. I live in florida so its sunny then raining in 15 mins
