This movie is iconic, as is its cars, but I also think that it is very much a film of its day. The Falcons were just cars of the day, with the two XBs actually ex-police vehicles, not the 'exotic' Mustangs they originally wanted to use. That said, what's not to love about the 351-4V motors and the muscular styling? For a contemporary version of Max, they'd need to use contemporary police vehicles to maintain a similar level of realism. Where I live, the police use specially built Ford Interceptor SUVs (based on the Ford Explorer). They're nice, but... ain't no Falcon, that's for sure.

The yellow ‘Pursuit’ car as you introduced it was actually Max’s yellow INTERCEPTOR. If you watch the early scenes of the first movie you will see Max’s yellow Interceptor, like yours had a few cosmetic differences to the yellow Pursuit cars. Five glaring differences are Max’s Interceptor, like yours not only had a different colour scheme to the Pursuit cars but the blue and red rotating lights on the roof were also much larger than the twin blue bubbles on the Pursuit cars. Max’s Interceptor also had a yellow siren on the roof like yours where the Pursuit cars had black. Like yours, Max’s Interceptor had chrome mags as opposed to the yellow mags on the Pursuit cars. Finally Max’s car had the word ***INTERCEPTOR*** decal across the boot/trunk as does yours whereas the others has the word ***PURSUIT*** so please stop referring to the yellow interceptor as a pursuit car. Perhaps you described it as such so as to differentiate between the black coupe and the yellow sedan as they are both interceptors but your description can be quite deceptive.

The black V8 Falcon Coupe is actually a Pursuit Special (you can hear the MFP dispatcher referring to a "possible code 3 on a black Pursuit Special" when Max is chasing down the bikers), the oil refinery mechanic calling it "The last of the V8 Interceptors" was an improvised line, but also shows that, although a skilled mechanic, he isn't in the know about MFP vehicle designations.

In MM it's called a Pursuit Special and is referred to as such by the dispatcher in the Australian version ; check the scene where Max is ambushed by Bubba and Toecutter . If it was ever called Interceptor in the film then give me the timestamp and I'll check it out . It was called "The last of the V8 Interceptors" only in MM2/TRW . Lastly , all that stuff you wrote about Interceptors and Pursuit Specials is just crap that you made up (presumably when you were vrooming around the carpet with toy cars) ; there's nowt in any of the films to back that up .

Yeah . Tell me when and where it was in London (with your references) and that's good . Otherwise suck it up that it wasn't in London like I'm telling you it wasn't.

MFP - Main Force Patrol. Keeping together whats left of a dystopian future. Actual ultra dangerous stunts - never to be duplicated with CG computer effects, and insurance regs. outlawed these stunts here in US.
