I always thought that saying was stupid, until I bought an old 1995 Pontiac Bonneville as a winter beater. I bought it super cheap, with 300,000 miles on the odometer, thinking it would only last one winter, but I ended up driving it for 10 winters. I beat the hell out of it, rarely did any routine maintenance, and it just refused to die. It still ran great when I got rid of it, but the subframe had succumbed to rust, otherwise, I'd probably still have it.

The Soliad Wendover is based on the LeGran. In the BeamNG lore, Soliad is the luxury marque of Buckell. Like with Lexus/Toyota or Acura/Honda.

@Ivan Perez I’ve had the negative boost get so bad the engine wouldn’t say it was broken but it would only idle for 5 seconds and die, and if you gave it throttle it would also die

I love these videos and they motivated me to finally get Beam. I ran the off-road D-Series around this, and it ran until i ran out of gas. I pushed it hard, and it managed 64.9 miles, had a bit of suspension damage, deformed the chassis some, and a bit of steering issues, but it was incredible.

when the Wendover lost all boost, yes you had to work the engine really hard, but because it didn't make any boost anymore it also made much less heat. one hell of a performance from the car

Surprisingly my best car on this track has been the D-Series short frame (the Ford Bronco looking truck). I modified it, but not to an extreme digree. Think I gave it heavy duty off-road suspension, but then lowered it to the point where it is only slightly taller then the default non-off road suspension.

At this point I'm fairly certain the water hazard is causing a glitch because vehicles that are just starting to kill themselves with temp damage have repeatedly hit it and just started magically cooling themselves for ages until some sort of further threshold is reached. Almost all the top spots are taken by vehicles that got this glitch.

I dont think its a glitch. The water got in the engine and just stayed there for a vhile, keeping it cool.

@@natalijalaonar8187 It seems to happen exclusively when the engine is just starting it's death spiral. Otherwise the water lasts for a little while but certainly doesn't get the gauge halfway down for 2 or more laps.

@@Rocketknightgeek If you look closely he's purposely driving into the deeper sections of the water (for more cooling, but also bigger danger on catching on rocks and breaking something) if the engine is about to die. Not a glitch, it's just a strategy.

I feel like what happened with the temperature is that once the supercharger went, there was a lot less of a heat load in the engine bay, so the cooling system had less to deal with for that much longer. You can see the temperature slowly creep up once it leveled out in the middle. So oddly enough, I think the loss of the supercharger is what saved the car.

"Intake damage" is a good thing I think. Because when the radiator is damaged, normally it would be game over quick for turbo- or supercharged cars. Now its less of a problem when the intake is damaged too. The boost leak relieves the extra stress on the engine.

When it first said induction system damaged, boost went from hitting above 17 to max less than 13. Then it went to less than 4, then 2, and finally negative boost. So the supercharger gradually dies I guess.

Obviously the makers of BeamNG Drive do not like American classic muscle cars. There's no way the General Yee untouched would have clonked out as early as it did. And seeing as how this is a stronger version, it should of lasted much longer than what it did.

I tested the 3800 SE trim of the Wendover a few days ago and I got about 16 laps in (with it being one wheel drive I might add) before the engine blew up. Tough is an understatement for that car.

Idk how the physics of this game react, but irl, if your temp gauge goes from hot to cold, it’s a sign that there’s no coolant left at all...instead of hot water, the gauge is monitoring air, which isn’t nearly as hot...failure is then imminent.

Automation cars are very tough. It really wouldn't be a fair contest, since most of them would easily top this chart. For example, I don't think it's even possible for Automation engines to die to overheating. It'll just keep going forever while red-hot with a busted radiator.

"Induction system damaged" having owned and driven a 1997 Oldsmobile 88 Regency with the IRL version of the 3.8L engine (Sans the super charger) I am willing to bet you any amount of money it was the mass air flow sensor. That damn sensor goes all the time on those engines, which is funny because the engine itself is pretty robust and will run on one and a half cylinders. (1 coil pack driving 2 cylinders with one of them hardcore misfiring more or less making it a single cylinder driving the engine) Just. . . don't get it wet. . . the electrics will fail. XD

So on the induction system damage point I rolled a vivace damaged the induction system and the car would start and immediately stall and wouldn’t drive, so I assume if you damage the induction system enough no air will go to the engine causing it to in effect destroy the engine

The latest update has ruined a lot of the older cars and made them unbelievably weak. I reversed a 200BX into a wall at 13mph and it broke the driveshaft! Hope you plan on using the previous version of BeamNG for this series from now onwards.

@@ALFA-XL- There's no lies, try it for yourself. The driveshaft on those 200BX's used to be almost unbreakable, now they break with the slightest tap. Also the Miramar seems to have extremely strong leaf spring suspension, which before the latest update used to collapse very easily.
