Nice driving. It seems that GT3 class cars have to go super wide, cut at eau rouge and go way over the white lines to keep up with the lap times and speeds of GTE and older GT class cars

@@memoNo1719 we have no choice for tyre compound, all the same, for that lap it was quit new tyre TC about 2 to 3 and ABS 6 but it's a specific ABS Map

Is there a reason that some drivers go into 1st gear at La Source and the Chicane? Is it more of a drivers preference or more of a mechanical standpoint?

both reason, it depends of the car you drive and driver preference, with the Bentley and 800 Nm of torque you don't need 1st gear :D

I´ve never noticed that low pitched whine before (i.e. at 3:55) Almost sounds like an old air raid siren. Do know what that is by any chance, and if it´s as prominent on pther GT3s as well?

That's the gearbox. The whine is created by the gears being cut straight (higher contact area between gears) for optimal performance but less comfort as opposed to a road car's gears that are cut in a helical pattern (less contact area between gears) to prevent noise and harshness.
