The driver in a car crash which killed one and seriously injured four school students in Melbourne’s east has been released from custody. Police say they believe the 40-year-old Hawthorn East woman had picked up her child from Auburn South Primary School and was performing a U-turn on Burgess Street, when her car veered off the road and ploughed through a fence into the schoolyard.
