20:19 why no passenger service for 7kms (I mean they could extend to Geelong right?????)
@tressteleg1Ай бұрын
@@civities I just decided to check bus timetables, and bus 190 connects Werribee station with Wyndham Vale station running every 20 minutes weekdays but 40 minutes or so on Saturdays. So obviously there is no heart to extend the wires down the former mainline to meet the VLine Trains that 7 km further south.

You've mixed up Champion Rd, with Maddox Rd crossing. The one you noted as being in planning to close is Maddox Rd, Champion Rd is the first crossing you passed. Planning to remove altogether. That pedestrian was at Champion Rd crossing, on the left, or Williamstown side. Missed Maidstone st, all one in advance Thanks for explaining the signal lights 🎉

@@IPEX-BADD Thanks. Not knowing the area at all, I expected to make a mistake or 2

@@tressteleg1 At 1:00 why did they temporarily change the signals to medium speed warning then back?
@tressteleg1Ай бұрын
@ I have no idea why. Being the exit from a siding, I expect that this signal is controlled from ?Metrol or wherever it is controlled from. Whether the operator intentionally did this or whether there was some minor glitch in the system we may never know.
@johnd8892Ай бұрын
That pedestrian at the Champion Rd crossing, and many others like him, will have many kilometres extra to walk in future if he wants to legally cross the railway. Same with the cars and trucks. Safe Labor seat though.
@j_y_Ай бұрын
Keyword.. legally 😆 What part of an active railway would you have to be in for it to be considered tresspassing? Someone I know does some rail photography, and this person sometimes gets a bit closer to the rails, but in my mind as long as I stay off the ballast it's not tresspassing... or is it

Would be awesome to see the driver operating the controls in the view
@tressteleg1Ай бұрын
@@thetruth00 It would be great to see, but as it is the driver is pushing his/her luck in recording the runs. Having a person illegally in the cab with a second illegal camera would be a step far too far.

No video description hee hee 8:30 reminds me of the time where i was going to take the train to aircraft, get a train back to laverton and take the laverton loop. Aircraft train got cancelled and I ran back to laverton... surprised the stations are only 1km apart! 12:50 the fly splatting onto the windshield and slowly sliding across lol For the center broad gauge track I see signals facing both sides, is that track bi-directional? Or is the track on the right not the standard gauge one? at 17:20 you mention the 31 marker as 31Km from Melbourne.. I always thought it meant 31 miles from Melbourne (track length)? Do you have any idea what the air releasing sound at 18:27 is? You've mentioned before that you are a tram driver in Melbourne, have you ever driven trains before?
@tressteleg1Ай бұрын
@@j_y_ 8:30, younger and fitter days 😆 I also noticed the backwards signals and assumed that the two tracks were set up for bi-directional running. Unlucky fly 😆😆 Yes originally they were miles, but with all the metric conversions, the mile posts were removed and replaced with relevant km boards. The air puff was probably the driver moving the brake handle. I was a South Melbourne tram driver 1988 to 1994. I never officially drove trains but had a few drivers who would let me drive their trains. With cameras everywhere these days, it is impossible to get away with it. Sly Drives of Electric Trains. dang it, all this time I thought they were mile posts. But it is still distance via tracks and not bird flies right? Wish I was an adult in the 1990's haha
