Thanks for the video. Reminds me of the trip to Slovakia i did in May 2009, stayed at Trnava and traveled on that line about five times. Had a fantastic meal at Pezinok and again at the TV tower in Bratislava. Thanks for the memory and Best wishes from the UK.

Hello Tim, the ride with narnow gauge Waldbahn brought to me the two ultimate highlights of this amazing trip: passing a soccer stadium (48:58) and getting water from a creek standing at bridge above. - Heiinz

Hello Heinz, this was a trip with plenty of highlights, especially the two you mention, along with the handsome "Albatros" locomotive, the Russian gauge railway to the border with the Ukraine, the High Tatra electric railway and the standard gauge cog railway. Every day of this tour was memorable for all the right reasons, I hope RTC repeat this tour, I'm sure it will be popular - Tim.

Hello Tim! That was a wonderful completion of this Slovakia trip. I'm very curious to see what's next. At 52:02 minutes, these were the diesel locomotives that came to us across the border in Summerau in the 1970s. They have become quite rare. But they were so sturdy that they can not be killed. 2200 tons had been attached to those at that time. My sixties, I have also done well last week. I wish you all the best for your next videos. Greeting Hans from the Mühlviertel.👍🚂

Hello Hans, the amazing sunset was a fitting end to a superb Slovakian adventure. The Loco at 52:02 was on the Russian gauge line near the Ukrainian border, although we did see a number of them on the standard gauge lines as well, most were in the colours of private operators and looked as though they were used on infrastructure trains. I'm pleased you made it safely into your sixties, I hope you celebrated in style. I have one or two rail adventures arranged, hopefully this winter I'll find time to work on my model railway. Take care. Tim.

Thank you, Tim. The diesel locomotive I meant looked the same. At that time, the designation number was 473. But I think that name no longer exists. It's already around 45 years ago. Wish you a nice afternoon Tim. Greeting Hans.☺

@@neilforbes416 The next couple of videos are English, then I'm hoping to edit some of the stuff I shot in New Zealand and Australia. At the end of the month I'm filming in Austria. It would take 2 to 3 years to edit all the stuff I have in the can, not to mention 1000's of photographs families have kindly donated to me when loved ones have passed on, knowing the photos will be digitised and saved for future use, some of the photos taken in the 50's and 60's using professional equipment are amazing. I wish I could give up full time work to concentrate on my love of travel and railways.

Once again, an interesting journey through a lovely looking country. (More or less what I say every time, but it's no less true for the repetition) :) One suggestion for the future, if it's not too much trouble to add: When you put up a station name, perhaps you could also put up a cut-out portion of the map (top left corner would be a good place for it) showing just the relevant portion and the red line leading just up to the named station. The whole map would be too much, but showing just the portion of the map which covers the journey might be small enough so it doesn't block anything important while being large enough to see where the named station is located along the route.

Hi, its hard to answer all the comments without being repetitive at times, I understand where you are coming from. I read you suggestion with interest, I wish I had more time to work on these videos, there are a number of thing I'd like to add such as better maps. It is hard to find royalty free railway maps as good as the one I used for this Slovakian series, Google Earth is the usual source for maps, but they don't always show railways very well. I wish the software I used to edit my videos Incorporated an add on for showing routes, as it is I use a piece of free software I found on the internet to show the route called "route generator". I try to upload one video every week, some are reasonably quick to edit others take for ever, especially where a lot of sound and image correction is required. I wish I could make this channel my full time job, but it simply doesn't generate enough money for me to give up the day job. I always appreciate suggestions, wherever reasonably possible I will try to incorporate them. Cheers.Tim.

@@Timsvideochannel1 I take that as your polite way of saying that you'd love to take my suggestion but it would probably be too much work and add too much editing time. That's okay. Your current efforts are much appreciated.

Eastern and Central Europe is much different than Western Europe!
@Timsvideochannel1
@Timsvideochannel1 5 жыл бұрын
There are many differences, that is why I love to visit these places. They are generally laid back, the people are friendly, Health and Safety considerations are kept to a sensible level, with the decision to allow a camera in the cab left to the driver, rather than Health and safety personnel who always say "No". These places are twenty or thirty years behind the West, they still have butterfly's, insects, flower meadows and Stickleback Fish in the river's, reminding us just what it is we are losing on the alter of so called progress. Slovakia is a lovely place.
